Patrolling all the corridors and classrooms in the East Building took about thirty minutes. After that, they still had to patrol the West Building. Each floor of both buildings had a small logbook for check-ins, hanging in the record box by the stairs. Anything discovered during the patrol had to be recorded on the forms as a reference for the next "parent." Little Red Riding Hood was already thoroughly familiar with this patrol routine.
Yu Sheng followed beside Little Red Riding Hood, watching her carry out these tasks. He could tell how seriously she took them. Even when passing through each room and writing down every entry, she wore an almost mission-like expression.
Yu Sheng felt that he could understand how she felt. Ankaela was gradually awakening, while the children would be transferred to that valley tomorrow. After that, no matter what happened—whether the crisis of the "fairy tale" was ultimately resolved or the Dark Angel escaped control—this might be her last time patrolling this place.
"Not long ago, we were still planning a full search of the entire orphanage and arranging patrol and inspection plans for the underground facilities. And now we might be leaving tomorrow." Little Red Riding Hood sighed softly, her tone carrying a hint of self-mockery. "It really is... pretty sudden."
"Plans never keep up with change," Yu Sheng said quietly. "Things are always like this."
Little Red Riding Hood pursed her lips. After several seconds of silence, she suddenly spoke in a very small voice. "It'll be all right, won't it?"
"Of course." Yu Sheng smiled faintly. "We've made all the necessary preparations. Whether Ankaela attacks you in reality or in a dream, we'll stop her."
Little Red Riding Hood looked into Yu Sheng's eyes. After a while, a trace of a smile appeared in
