To ordinary people, No. 66 Wutong Road was invisible.
But to Special Operations Bureau agents with a certain degree of spiritual talent and specialized focus training, the "Keep Out" vacant lot occupied by No. 66 Wutong Road, along with the strange wall at the far end of the lot, was visible.
And now, both the vacant lot and the wall at its far end had vanished, disappearing into the tranquil night without making a sound, as if they had never existed.
Two Special Operations Bureau agents practically flashed out of the station. They stared dumbfounded at the narrow alley before them. The cold night wind blew against them, yet sweat trickled from the backs of their necks all the way down to their feet.
Their specially trained, keen powers of observation quickly allowed them to determine the condition of the surrounding buildings in the darkness. They confirmed that all of them had undergone varying degrees of displacement and distortion. Some buildings that had originally been on the far side of the vacant lot had now shifted to within inches of them. Some empty houses that had not originally been adjacent had now become row houses. And the whole thing gave them the feeling...
It was as if the space here had originally been forcibly "stretched open" by something, and now that "foreign object" that had stretched the space had suddenly left. Thus, the space-time in this area, which had remained distorted for a long time without anyone noticing, had silently returned to its original state.
One of the Special Operations Bureau agents wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and turned to his companion. "...What do we do?"
"What else can we do? R-report it," the other agent said, looking no better. "This is definitely going to alarm the director."
