The ship experienced a brief, wondrous "oscillation" as it exited hyperspace.
Though the ship had remained highly stable in both physical structure and real-space coordinates, the moment the curvature of space returned still caused everyone's perceptions to become misaligned for a short time. It felt as though they were simultaneously occupying several different "locations," after which all those "locations" collapsed into a single fixed point in the real world within an incredibly brief instant. For anyone riding a faster-than-light craft for the first time, it was absolutely an unprecedented experience.
Outside the enormous observation window, the redshift-blueshift effect was rapidly fading. The closed spatial bubble unfolded, and the instant warped space smoothed out, the stars abruptly returned to their normal appearance from within that two-dimensional membrane. A starfield completely different from anything observable near the Great Void Spiritual Pivot had appeared before everyone's eyes.
Eileen pattered over to the observation window, climbed onto the platform, and craned her neck to gaze at the magnificent starfield outside. She let out an exaggerated exclamation. "Whoa—"
Then she turned her head. "Hey, Yu Sheng, Yu Sheng, where's Dushu?"
The moment she finished speaking, the starfield outside the observation window slowly began to move. Then a relatively dim orange-red star entered everyone's field of vision.
"We're currently traveling at sublight speed. We're expected to enter the near-star deceleration zone around 'Dushu' in an hour," Yu Sheng said casually from the captain's seat. "But the Otherworld Inn can't land directly on the planetary surface. This planet has no civilian spaceport open to large vessels of this scale, so we'll dock at a high-orbit berthing station, then take the shuttle concubine into the atmosphere."
Eileen froze for a moment. "Shuttle concubine? This ship has that configuration too?"
Yu Sheng said, "That's Huli."
"Right, right?"
The fox
