At that moment, Yu Sheng gained a deeper understanding of his eldest nephew's "look"—but this clearly wasn't the time to dwell on it.
He whipped around and looked in the direction Zheng Zhi was pointing. Through the curtain of rain and the dim daylight, he saw lightning tear across the sky, while the rain below seemed to conceal an empty space.
But he finally sensed the source of that gaze.
"Huli!" Yu Sheng casually stowed away his Tetanus Staff, spun around, and charged into the distance. At the same time, he shouted, "Send me a tail!"
The moment his voice fell, a brilliant blaze suddenly lit up. A silver-white fox tail came howling from afar!
With Eileen (Black Iron) slung over his shoulder and another person (rebar) dangling from his hand, Yu Sheng ran over with practiced ease, flipped onto the fox tail, then yanked at its fur. Riding the foxfire-propelled tail, he shot straight into the sky toward the direction Zheng Zhi had pointed.
A deafening thunderclap streaked across the sky. Pale lightning illuminated the dense curtain of rain, and the clouds suddenly churned. Powerful energy seemed to be brewing in the air. Yu Sheng clearly saw crackling electricity spread across the surface of his skin, and then a bolt of lightning abruptly fell from high above, striking directly toward his back as though guided by someone.
Yet at that moment, a layer of azure radiance suddenly flared around the Fox Tail. The protective spiritual energy Huli had left on it clashed violently with the lightning, creating an astonishing explosion in midair.
The thunderous roar at such close range was deafening.
But Yu Sheng paid it no heed. He merely accelerated, shooting straight into the sky through the pouring rain like a cannonball!
More thunder brewed in the sky.
