Huli came out through the main gate with a chicken leg in each hand, grinning from ear to ear.
Then she immediately handed one of the chicken legs to Yu Sheng. "Benefactor, have a chicken leg!"
Huli was clearly in a very good mood after filling her stomach.
Yu Sheng casually took the chicken leg and gnawed on it, then turned and pointed toward the "main excavation pit" not far away. "Engineer Sun's people are digging down there. Once you're done eating, go help them."
"Oh."
Huli happily agreed, then quickly gnawed the remaining half of the chicken leg clean, meat, bones, and all. She took a few steps forward, crouched down, and transformed in the blink of an eye into a gigantic silver-white demon fox. With a delighted trot, she ran to the edge of the excavation pit.
With a group of construction workers hard at work, the main excavation pit had already been expanded considerably. Even Huli's enormous body could jump straight in and dig. At the freshly opened bottom of the pit, large expanses of crystalline structures had already been exposed.
The inactive "crystal branches" crisscrossed through the rocks and soil, entangled like some enormous root system. Even after the workers had expanded the excavation pit several times in every direction and downward, they still had not found the "source" of those crystal branches. The deeper they dug, the higher the proportion of crystalline material became, and deeper still, there seemed to be "trunk" structures far more robust than those near the surface.
Engineer Sun was somewhat curious about Yu Sheng's persistent excavation instructions, which seemed to have a very clear target. "What exactly are we digging for? Don't tell me we're going to dig out all the crystalline structures beneath the entire crater?"
