Dim, chaotic—the heavens and earth were as though they had yet to separate, with only endless, hazy mist above, below, left, and right. A staggering figure walked deep within the endless fog, bewildered and unaware of where he was.
How long had he been walking like this? How much longer would he have to keep walking? Why had he embarked on this path, and when had he set foot upon it?
The traveler thought in confusion, feeling that he had forgotten many things. He had even forgotten his own name and origins. It was as if, from the day he was "born," he had been walking this endless mist-shrouded path, with his destination being a forgotten end and his starting point seeming to belong to another life.
But suddenly, a gentle breeze blew over, dispersing some of the surrounding fog. Amid the slight chill, the traveler felt his consciousness clear for a moment. He raised his head and saw the thin mist drifting away. The path, which had originally been blurry, also became clearer. Unknown wild grasses swayed in his vision, their stalks rising above his knees.
The gray, colorless grass path and the gray, colorless sky—within this chaotic world, all colors seemed to have been permeated by some muddled "gray," causing their boundaries to blur.
What was he supposed to do again?
Oh, keep walking forward...
The traveler unconsciously took a step, continuing forward under a driving force he himself had already forgotten.
It seemed that another figure had appeared in the fog. It staggered along just as he did, following him forward. Its outline resembled his own, yet it appeared exceptionally faint. In his muddled state, the traveler paid it no mind and simply walked on for a while longer.
Then the phantom silently merged into his body.
