The thing was clearly the focal point of the entire laboratory—it floated on the most conspicuous anti-gravity platform in the hall, tightly protected (or suppressed) by a circle of pale-blue Light Screens. Countless advanced devices and technicians revolved around the platform, and even when fierce clashes erupted on both sides of the passage and Huli's Fox Carrot Missiles smashed into it, the technicians stationed beside several key devices near the platform still refused to evacuate. They looked entirely prepared to live or die alongside their equipment.
Yet the thing itself looked decidedly unimpressive. It was merely an irregular black stone, like a fragment chipped off some larger object. Its edges gleamed with a hint of obsidian-like texture, and the entire fragment was roughly as tall as Eileen, making it seem quite inconspicuous as it floated within the force field.
Luna adjusted the holographic projection and enlarged the image, allowing Yu Sheng and Baili Qing to see more details of the black fragment.
