How long had he been moving through these endless, constantly repeating platforms and stairwells?
Yu Sheng felt as though he had lost his sense of time, and even his sense of space. The spacetime structure inside the Shattered Tower extended into the infinite distance in a bizarre manner. Many areas seemed to repeat over and over, while others appeared not to be directly connected at all, as though taking one step suddenly "teleported" him to the other end of some platform or staircase.
The direction of progress seemed to have lost all meaning, and the time passing during their journey had gradually become something impossible to grasp accurately. At times, Yu Sheng even experienced an illusion resembling a "time jump." He felt as if his next step had already been taken long ago, while his current movement seemed to have just been repeated a few minutes earlier.
Yet he was still certain that he was moving in the "right" direction. In that direction, he seemed to sense some distant... call.
It was the echo left by "Eileen" and the "Omen" at the end of this tower three thousand seven hundred years ago.
Yu Sheng raised his head and saw yet another broad, expansive platform ahead. The circular platform floated in the darkness, surrounded by chaotic mist. Broken staircases drifted through the chaos, connecting to the far end of the platform.
In the distance, he could vaguely see enormous pillars standing in the darkness, magnificent walls, and arches severed at the waist by spacetime rifts. Deep within those rifts, starlight from certain distant eras and spaces shone brilliantly.
Yu Sheng climbed onto the platform, preparing to rest for a while.
Many strangely shaped "miscellaneous objects" had piled up on the platform. Some kind of "distortion" caused by crossing between worlds had
