There was no great explosion.
Only a void that appeared without warning, then expanded at terrifying speed.
As though it meant to swallow everything.
The moment it appeared,
Countless tons of seawater vanished along with the creatures living in it. It was as if a piece of the ocean had suddenly been gouged out from afar.
It was utterly abrupt!!
Even as death came for them,
Many of those who died never understood how they had died.
But
From a view looking straight down,
One could clearly see countless wisps of dark-gray mist spreading and roiling at the center of that vast hole in the ocean.
Everything that touched them vanished in an instant, leaving not a trace!!
Seawater, living creatures, stones...
All met exactly the same fate!!
Even part of the seabed was forcibly erased!
And
As the Gray Mist continued to spread,
Seawater rushed toward the empty space, carrying everything within it straight into those dense, dark-gray clouds.
Caught completely off guard,
Countless more Sea Folk, sea beasts, and defensive structures built in the ocean vanished without a trace!!
It was as though they were all surging toward an endless cliff that plunged straight down.
Every moment,
Enough seawater to submerge an entire ordinary land-based nation disappeared without a trace.
Then,
As time passed,
Once the dark-gray mist had gathered enough mass and energy,
It was as if a black hole had been born there.
An immense pull
Appeared out of nowhere at the center of the vast void!!
It drove the seawater faster, dragging in Sea Folk and sea beasts that might otherwise have escaped!!
Even the boundless sea of clouds overhead
Twisted into a vortex and was forcibly sucked downward...
The terrifying vortex cloud looked rather like a straw.
