All kinds of karma had become so chaotic that even the normal use of the Torrent of Destiny had developed some problems. It had become at least far more energy-consuming than before—not by a little, but by multiples upon multiples. The increase showed no sign of stopping and was still soaring continuously. It was like trying to navigate safely through increasingly complex waters: the effort and resources required would inevitably keep rising.

He had no way to be certain of the truth.
But based on the information he had absorbed from all those corpses.
Those two possibilities were genuinely quite likely to occur.

Many of the corpses he had picked up before had died precisely because of those two situations.
