A small fishing village.
The village was tiny, and its people all made their living by fishing. It truly lived up to its name.
The small fishing village lay on the outskirts of Tiandu City in the Xifeng Empire, in a place that might have been difficult to find even on an official map. And because it was near the three-thousand-mu Taihu Lake, it was rarely visited by outsiders,
with only a few villages like this one scattered sparsely throughout the area. The villagers were poor yet cheerful, living peaceful lives apart from the world.
Most of the fishermen had fine voices. Whenever dawn first broke, they sang as they called out to their friends and rowed their own small boats toward the center of the three-thousand-mu Taihu Lake. Then, when evening came, they returned singing, their boats laden with fish and shrimp. By then, the whole village would be roused. Roosters crowed and dogs barked, children chased one another, and the women carrying babies or baskets of vegetables welcomed them at the lakeside with beaming smiles.
At that moment, the fishermen were returning from their catch, and the small fishing village was filled with a joyful, peaceful atmosphere.
What they did not know was that, in the grass not far away, a group of Black Robe Warriors was watching everything with the eyes of hungry tigers.
The leader, wearing a Black Wolf Mask, suddenly waved his hand and shouted, "Attack."
As he spoke, a group of men in black sprang from the bushes and pounced on the young and strong men and tender children who had yet to react.
At first, the villagers noticed nothing unusual. By the time they realized something was wrong, several people had already been snatched away by the men in black.
