Within the Ancestral God Hall, there were countless rites of sacrifice.
The so-called grand sacrifice was, in truth, the regular Essence Blood Sacrifice offered within each branch hall to the Ancient God War Spirits they enshrined.
Essence Blood Sacrifices were divided into grand and minor sacrifices. A grand sacrifice was held once a year, like celebrating the New Year for the Ancient God War Spirits being worshipped. Not only were vast numbers of formidable Monster Beasts slaughtered and bled as offerings, but the Ancestral God Hall would also distribute large quantities of Dragon Clan Essence Blood for sacrifice!
A minor sacrifice was held once every month. Each hall would collect differing numbers of Monster Beasts from the Ancestral God Hall's beast pens according to the number and rank of the Ancient God War Spirits it enshrined, then slaughter them as offerings.
The quantity was less than one-third of that used for a grand sacrifice, and there was none of the Dragon Clan Essence Blood most beloved by those heavily wounded, slumbering Ancient God War Spirits.
This Dragon Clan Essence Blood was one of the favorite offerings of those slumbering Ancient God War Spirits.
These were the officially prescribed number of sacrifices for every hall under the Ancestral God Hall. Beyond them, the personnel of each hall would often prepare an extra feast for the Ancient God War Spirits they worshipped. Or, when they needed to borrow the power of Ancient Gods and War Spirits during wartime, they also had to present a certain number of offerings.
Such offerings had to be procured by the halls themselves, or purchased from the Ancestral God Hall's beast pens.
