"That's unbelievable..." The orcs of the Gale Tribe stared at the enormous steel fortress, feeling as though their entire worldview had been overturned.
Building something on flat ground that was even larger than a human castle was indeed visually shocking. This made Savon and the other orcs certain once again that this probably wasn't a power belonging to the human empire. If the humans possessed such power, the beastmen would have been wiped out long ago!
The Steel Empire had enjoyed several eras when brilliant talents emerged, each time beating the beastmen into a sorry state. Yet no matter how powerful they were, they had never been able to unify the continent. The reason was that the northern and southern grasslands made it impossible to establish a foundation, and it was fundamentally impossible to build cities there...
It was difficult for orcs to conquer human fortifications with flesh and blood, while humans couldn't fight the orcs in the wilderness for extended periods. This was the fundamental reason the two races had faced off for a thousand years.
If such an assembled, mobile fortress truly existed in the human empire, it would be nothing short of an orcish nightmare!
"Wow... Elder, look! It's pure iron, pure iron!!"
After their initial shock, the orcs inside the fortress now wandered around curiously, touching everything. Their first shocking discovery was that this hastily constructed fortress was actually made entirely of pure steel!
If human city walls still had a sliver of a chance of being breached by the impact of enormous grassland beasts, then what could they possibly use to break through a structure made of pure iron?
"This isn't ordinary steel..." Hottel grinned. "Bron, want to test how tough this fortress is?"
"Uh... How do we test it?" Bron asked blankly.
"With your
