Little Cabbage was roused from her half-asleep state by a violent shaking. She opened her eyes and glanced at Alice, who was holding her, then shoved her away, jumped down, and scampered toward the cave entrance.
Alice looked at her own hands, then at Little Cabbage, who had run off without even glancing back. A hint of confusion flashed through her eyes before she hurried after her.
Once they left the cave, everyone saw an astonishing sight. Several dozen kilometers away, where the hills stood, a tremendous radiance enveloped the entire area. Relying on her extraordinary vision, Little Cabbage forcibly endured the glare and saw everything clearly. The whole hill, soil and rock alike, was being vaporized. Even the surrounding spatial molecules and atoms evaporated and vanished beneath the radiance. The very sense of space in that area seemed distorted!
