Since the consumption of these planet-sized activated lifeforms was enormous, they were basically kept in cryogenic hibernation. The departments inside the Activated Stars had withdrawn their personnel ahead of time, but one was the sole exception. From beginning to end, this planet had remained awake, and the departments within it had continued operating as usual.
Everyone in the Energy Department knew that among the Nine Activated Stars, this one consumed the most energy. Thus, many people found it difficult to understand why this particular star alone did not use cryogenic hibernation technology, causing the consumption of this voyage to increase by at least a third.
