What price did you pay?
Dylan Demon Elder's words plunged the entire hall into silence.
The closure of the upper three layers, the forced relocation of countless high-level demons from those layers, and the lower four layers opening up communication with the outside world—even allowing Federation law enforcement units to be stationed there—were all the price they had paid for the Celestial God slots!
At the beginning of this era, tensions between the Federation and the various demon factions had reached their peak. Several forces had been involved in incidents where demons researched the Void, and some had even deliberately promoted dangerous species from other worlds.
These creatures had caused tremendous harm in certain outlying regions, worsening the public's impression of Abyssal demons. In particular, investigations into several large-scale Void Rift incidents had uncovered traces of demons behind them. As it happened, the largest incident had occurred within the territory of the newly promoted Third Lord, the Azure Moon.
Thus, this newly promoted god of slaughter had done something many Lords wanted to do but did not dare to: he had led his core troops into the upper levels of the Abyss and slaughtered every high-level demon involved in the incident, including the current leader of the Royal Heavenly Demon Clan on the Second Layer!
That move had directly crossed the Void's bottom line. The Abyssal demons began slaughtering Federation citizens in the Abyss, and once the matter escalated, seven of the Federation's Ten Great Lords surrounded the Void with their ace armies. A great war was on the verge of breaking out!!
Under the pressure, the Federation authorities brought in the Celestial God peacekeeping forces to blockade the Abyss and began the final negotiations with the many Demon Lords of the Abyss.
Whether there would be war or peace
