Others had outstanding faculty and had spent heavily to hire renowned masters to teach in order to attract students, giving them advantages in certain fields that even highly ranked schools lacked.
There were also all kinds of enticing promises. For a time, even someone with ordinary self-control like Wang Chengbo—and even Mu Yunji, whose will had been tempered through years of cultivation—were talked into a daze by the crowd of instructors, unable to make up their minds.
