Looking at the rather bewildered Reina, Vice Captain Matt shook his head slightly from within the group and sighed inwardly.
Seeing that Reina still seemed not to have realized when she had offended Baal Si, it was clear that she was still too young. Then again, Baal Si was a hypocritical man. Even after working with him for two sessions, many people still failed to see through the contrast between his bold exterior and his extremely petty nature.
At the entrance to the Ancient Land, when they had been with High Priest Capricorn, Reina should not have taken it upon herself to smooth things over!
Of course, he knew Reina had only wanted to keep outsiders from seeing them make a fool of themselves and had tried to take over as quickly as possible. Her intentions had been good, and that approach would have worked with many teams. Unfortunately, she had run into Baal Si.
Matt had worked with Baal Si for many years. As Vice Captain, he knew that man's temperament all too well. Although Reina had quickly eased the awkwardness and prevented the whole team from being left outside because High Priest Capricorn was throwing a tantrum, she had effectively stolen the captain's authority and gotten away with it. In doing so, she had sacrificed Baal Si's dignity!
After all, the captain had stepped forward only to be humiliated, while you had stepped in and successfully prevented the High Priest from making things difficult. How was he supposed to feel about that?
Reina was clever too. After standing stunned for a few seconds, she immediately understood under Matt's gaze. A trace of coldness flashed through her eyes. She knew Baal Si was petty, but she had not expected him to be this petty—to hold a grudge over something
