"Paris"
Reina stood frozen in place, eyes wide as she stared ahead. Beneath the carved metal wall, a familiar figure sat quietly, motionless as a statue.
Her expression was stiff, and her entire face had taken on a deathly black hue that made the heart tremble. She looked utterly devoid of life.
"Paris." Reina took a step forward. Alongside her shock and terror was a trace of relief and caution.
"Senior!" Finally, Feng Doudou, who had been following behind Reina, rushed ahead and stopped her with one hand. Her expression turned incomparably stern and cold.
"I advise you not to get any closer."
Reina stiffened at her words, but she quickly said, "Dou Dou, we have to save her. Paris is the team's primary medic. She's incredibly important and can't be eliminated."
"Eliminated?" Feng Doudou sighed and slowly drew the sword Reina had lent her from her waist. "Senior, do you still think this is a competition? You need to face reality." As she spoke, Feng Doudou pointed the tip of her sword at the person slumped on the floor. "That senior named Paris is already dead."
Perhaps worse than dead.
Feng Doudou narrowed her eyes as some unpleasant memories resurfaced in her mind.
Back when the New Realm had been contaminated, many of the creatures polluted by the Black Goat's energy had looked exactly like Paris did now.
"Impossible." Reina shook her head and walked straight over. "This trial has been under the supervision of our academy's senior authorities the entire time. Those in charge are all mighty experts. They would never allow a student to die. If that had happened, the trial would have ended long ago."
Feng Doudou watched Reina walk away without trying to dissuade her further. She had always understood one thing: many people were
