Rescue Operation (Part One)

"It moved... It's moving again!!"

As the last rays of sunlight slowly sank in the west and night fell, the Crystal Palace, which had moved to the southern part of the city, began changing again. Rotten flesh continuously gushed from the cracks in its beautiful crystal surface, rapidly wrapping around the enormous Crystal Palace.

The rotten flesh spread out, forming a disgusting membrane of meat. One by one, pitch-black, razor-sharp teeth slowly opened, and the once incomparably beautiful palace transformed once again into a horrifying monster...

"It really is just as that lord said. This thing starts mutating as soon as night falls!"

The speaker was a middle-aged man with a beard. He glanced at his subordinates behind him and said, "Let's go back and report!"

Several subordinates hurriedly got to their feet, looking as though they couldn't wait to leave. Although they were more than a kilometer away, the terrifying aura radiating from the monster still left them shaken.

The group had barely started walking away when they suddenly saw another team approaching from the distance. The two groups tacitly stopped ten meters apart.

"We're here to take over the shift. Lady Lei Xue said it should just about start moving around this time..." the Bald Giant leading the other team said in a low voice.

The Bearded Man nodded slightly, but he did not immediately hand over the shift. Instead, he and his subordinates remained where they were, their expressions tense, as though waiting for something.

As night fell, the Evil Spirits capable of creating environments became the most active. Although most Evil Spirits acted alone and usually only transformed into a single person's appearance, there had been cases of groups of Evil Spirits working together to impersonate an entire faction.

The Bald Giant seemed to remember something.
