"Can you tell what those things are?"
On the city wall, Luke gazed solemnly outside the city. Under the pitch-black sky, ordinary people could not even see their own fingers without firelight. But for a General Rank warrior like Luke, using the firelight from the city gate to make out things a dozen or so yards away was still no problem.
"They look like soldiers..." Luke answered after observing them for a while.
The two General Rank warriors who had just come up to the wall tensed at his words. Could Bondi's deduction have been wrong?
If that's the case, we're really finished...
"But there are some differences..." Luke continued.
"Could you finish what you're saying in one go..." one of the generals said, rolling his eyes.
Luke ignored his companion's complaint and continued observing as he said, "In terms of their build, they're about the same size as humans, with blue-black bodies. But the difference is that Lord Swain's Regular Army is equipped uniformly. They're all wearing Bone Armor made from the remains of some sort of creature, whereas these fellows..."
The two generals beside him hurriedly looked over as well.
In the pitch-black wilderness, more than a dozen humanoid soldiers silently watched them. Their eyes were an eerie green, like cat's eyes, but their equipment was far from uniform. Some wore leather armor, while others wore imperial Chainmail, and all of it looked somewhat battered. Their weapons were just as random: some carried iron spears, while others wielded broadswords. They were nothing like the army they had seen earlier, whose members all carried ice-blue swords.
How should they put it? If the troops under Lord Swain looked like a regular army, these people looked more like a band of stragglers.
"But there are regular soldiers too..." Luke pointed
