Ch. 261Tang San: Depose the Crown Prince, Elevate the Fourth Prince
After discovering another poisoning attempt against Xue Ye, Tang San secured authority to test everything served to the emperor and argued that the court should act before the poisoner was ready to kill him. He proposed deposing Xue Qinghe and backing Xue Beng, then left with Ning Fengzhi and Yu Xiaogang planning to reveal his identity and resume producing the Godly Zhuge Crossbow.
- Xue Ye suspected Prince Xue Xing of poisoning him, but Tang San redirected the discussion and gained permission to test all food and drink delivered to the emperor.
- Tang San warned Ning Fengzhi and Yu Xiaogang that Xue Ye’s slow-acting poison suggested the culprit was waiting for the right moment to strike.
- Tang San proposed deposing Xue Qinghe and supporting Xue Beng, and Ning Fengzhi and Yu Xiaogang agreed that they needed to act quickly.
- Tang San suggested revealing to Xue Beng and Xue Xing that Tang Yin was Tang San so they could work together to expose Xue Qinghe’s weaknesses.
- Tang San said he also wanted their help producing the Godly Zhuge Crossbow and insisted that Spirit Hall’s interference would not stop him.
