Wei Lin reacted quickly. Before Lin Shuguang could reach out and seize the long sword, he had already drawn a saber from behind his waist.
He brought it down hard on the assassin's long sword, sending sparks flying and knocking his opponent back.
"Young master, are you all right?"

Hearing nothing unusual in Lin Shuguang's tone, Wei Lin felt slightly relieved.
The assassin opposite them wore a fanged mask. With a wave of his hand, at least ten similarly dressed figures suddenly poured out of the surrounding alleys.
"Which gang are you from? Have you heard of the Lin Family of Qingyan City?" Wei Lin had not expected so many assassins to be hiding here. His gaze tightened, and he gripped the handle of his broadsword hard.
"Don't blame us. Blame yourselves for offending someone you shouldn't have. Attack!"
The masked assassin who had struck first shouted sharply, and the ten black-clad assassins immediately charged together.
Wei Lin looked tense. If there had only been one opponent, he would still have been confident of getting Lin Shuguang away, but with so many of them now, fighting their way out would be far too difficult.
"Young master, stay behind me-"
Wei Lin had just begun his warning when, before he could even finish, he noticed a dark figure suddenly dart past him.
The familiar clothes made his expression change drastically.
It was his young master who had charged out.
"Young master!" Wei Lin shouted anxiously. Frantic, he hurried after him with his saber raised.
Even he had to be careful around this many assassins. The slightest mistake would leave him
