Whoosh!
Lightning flashed, illuminating the entire sky, followed by a deafening crash.
Rain poured down.
The entire otherworld seemed to have had a basin of water dumped over it. A patrol member handed Lin Shuguang a dark green raincoat, having to shout to make himself heard over the torrential downpour:
"Director Lin, the weather is too severe right now. Please wait a little longer."
Gravity in the otherworld was nowhere near as forgiving as it was outside, so the heavy rain striking their bodies hurt terribly.
The iron plates of the makeshift command post sounded as though they were being raked by machine-gun fire.
The others' concerns were not unfounded.
A thunderstorm was raging outside. Although that sea was so strange that not even this severe weather raised the slightest wave on it, the risk of a lightning strike was too great.
Just then, a patrol member suddenly burst in, panting. "Out at sea! People are coming!"
Everyone inside the command post immediately paled and looked toward Lin Shuguang.
Lin Shuguang remained composed. "How many?"
"About twenty or so," the newcomer said nervously.
Everyone in the room sucked in a cold breath. The twenty Corpse People who had landed and broken through last time had already made their lives miserable. Now, with such severe weather as well, the situation was very unfavorable for them.
Lin Shuguang rose and issued an order as he pushed aside the door curtain. "Activate the heavy weapons. I'll handle the killing. Don't let any stragglers get through the blockade."
"Understood!"
Lin Shuguang charged out of the command post first, disappearing into the curtain of rain.
The patrol members behind him also rushed to their positions, contacted reinforcements, and activated the heavy-weapons defense line...
Without their noticing, the raindrops that had hurt them earlier no longer
