Lin Shuguang had just raised his saber to charge forward when the Silver Seraph grabbed him. "Wait. Something's wrong."
"What did you find?" Lin Shuguang looked over at him.
The Silver Seraph seemed to be probing for something. He whispered, "I once received an inheritance here, so I have a faint spiritual connection... I think I just heard something..."
"What?"
"A woman's voice."
Lin Shuguang froze. Holding his saber, he glanced at the Silver Seraph, then at the Demon God's Eye overhead. "You didn't steal its wife, did you?" he asked with a strange look.
The Silver Seraph: "..."
Closing his eyes, he began sensing in earnest. "I wasn't hearing things. I'm certain."
In the distance, everyone fled in panic.
Explosions rang out one after another.
It was a scene of devastation, as though the world were ending.
"The Demon God's awakening... stop... don't refine the Power of Rules... puppet... go! ..."
Before the altar, the Silver Seraph's eyes snapped open.
High above, the Demon God's Eye unleashed an unprecedentedly terrifying pillar of light, as though trying to conceal some truth.
"Stop standing there! Move!" Lin Shuguang grabbed the Silver Seraph and shot backward.
The next instant, the entire valley was razed to the ground. Billowing dust surged like ocean waves.
Lin Shuguang slashed his saber, obliterating the sonic wave before finally steadying himself.
The Silver Seraph, however, looked utterly dazed.
Saber in hand, Lin Shuguang cut apart the towering blast engulfing the Silver Seraph. "What exactly did you hear? Why did it leave you so distracted?"
The Silver Seraph murmured, "That voice just told me to-"
Before he could finish.
The ground suddenly shook, and hoarse cries for help came from the entrance to this Alternate Dimension.
"The exit's been sealed!"
"Break the seal! Hurry!"
