The pavilion stood atop the mountain.

Yan Kai looked at his wristwatch. "It's almost time."

Beside him, a silver-haired man yawned. "Running fifteen kilometers in under ten minutes requires at least three resonances of bone tempering. If I remember correctly, some of this batch's newcomers have only reached one or two resonances. If they really don't pass, are you really going to kick them out?"

The silver-haired man asking the question was Han Sheng, the Deputy Chief Instructor of this Training Camp. His strength was equally unfathomable.

Yan Kai's expression remained unchanged. "The Elite Class doesn't need trash. That's the rule the Principal set when he founded the Training Camp. No one can break it!"

Han Sheng felt a headache coming on at his rigid answer. "Fine, you're the Chief Instructor. You're in full charge."

Something occurred to him, and he changed the subject. "Still, I'm a little impressed that you actually managed to secure access to the Secret Pavilion this time. Those old fellows aren't easy to talk around."

Yan Kai stared straight ahead, as though he hadn't heard.

Han Sheng didn't feel awkward either. "With the Secret Pavilion as bait, Gu Yingxiong is bound to be tempted. Barring any surprises, he'll take first. Want to guess who'll come second and third?"

After a moment of silence, Yan Kai said, "Do you know why we expanded enrollment this year? Because quite a few geniuses have emerged this time."

Han Sheng beamed. "What, has some genius caught your eye? Let me guess. That girl from the Xu Family? She's probably reached six resonances of bone tempering too. Barely passable. I reckon she has the talent for a second awakening."

Yan Kai shook his head.

Han Sheng's eyes flashed. "Not that girl? Could it be Wei Xinlong from the Wei Family?
