Two days later.
Earl Baptiste's residence.
In Flower Capital Pariel, the August midday sun made the air above the cobbled streets ripple slightly. A carriage slowly came to a stop in front of the estate, which stood in a bustling district.
This was the ancestral residence of the Baptiste Family. The morning-glory iron gate had been lightly coated with rust by the passing years, while the tall Poplar Trees on either side of the entrance guarded the garden's dignity and tranquility like sentinels.
A blonde girl stepped out of the carriage.
She wore a thin summer dress without sleeves. From her shoulders all the way to her neatly trimmed nails, it formed a perfect line.
Its loose design looked airy and light.
Perhaps thanks to her usual exercise, her figure, faintly revealed beneath the dress, was ideal.
She had not returned home for a month.
Her name was Christina. She was the eldest daughter of the family. Besides a brother five years her senior, she also had a younger sister, while her cousins lived with them as well.
The Baptiste household could be called a rather large family.
Christina loved her family dearly.
Last month, she had gone to the Yarolan Kingdom in the east to attend her first year at the Yarolan Royal Academy.
Now that it was the public holiday, she had returned home.
Public holidays in the Yarolan Kingdom usually lasted a week. Including the preceding weekend, that made nine days off in total.
If she skipped two more days of classes, she could turn it into an eleven-day break. Even returning to the Bosen Kingdom would leave her with plenty of time.
Although the reputation of the Baptiste Family had never been particularly good locally, they enjoyed endless wealth and glory thanks to their ancestors' achievements
