A cottony cloud drifted silently across the clear sky, and the bright morning sunlight suddenly dimmed considerably.
Lanchi looked at Hughberlian's downcast brows and felt that she seemed to have misunderstood something.
His teacher was not even human.
How could there be any talk of her disliking Hughberlian?
Still, there was one troublesome matter—Talia believed that Lanchi did not know she was a demon, and had been pretending to be human all along.
So even though Talia would not actually hate Hughberlian, she would inevitably have to act as if she disliked her to keep up appearances!
After all, that cold-hearted old hag Talia would never consider Hughberlian's feelings or whether she might hurt her.
"Uh, my teacher is actually like me and treats demons equally. She doesn't hate demons at all. But she has a terrible temper and looks down on everyone. If she snaps at you, don't take it to heart... So I'll wait until she's in a better mood before introducing you to her. She's actually quite interesting. Once we start our company, we might even be able to hire her as a technical consultant!"
Lanchi smiled cheerfully, then said,
"Okay."
Hughberlian nodded seriously. She believed what Lanchi had said.
Someone who could teach a student like Lanchi had to be someone who would not discriminate against demons.
Lanchi immediately resumed his serious expression.
"Although we were just talking about how difficult it is to catch the Rebirth Church spy at school, I have another way to catch the Resurrection Cultists."
"What?"
"Since the Rebirth Church wants to meet us in the Shadow World, we might as well turn their scheme against them and form a task force to target and capture the Resurrection Cultists in the next Shadow World! Cults are tumors that threaten social stability.
