Late at night.
Moonlight flowed through the gap in the bedroom curtains, adding a touch of mystery and tranquility to the warm space.
Faint light and shadow fell across the blankets. Talia and Hughberlian each slept on one side of the bed, their breathing soft and faint.
When Hughberlian had first started sharing a bed with Talia, she had been extremely tense. Only as the night wore on did she gradually let go of that nervousness.
Her steady breathing continued for a long time, as if she had already fallen peacefully asleep.
Only then did Talia slowly turn around, no longer facing away from Hughberlian.
