I. Summary of Volume 2
Volume 2 was clearly a stage of growth and accumulation.
This volume was actually difficult to discuss in detail, because in my view, its main focus was on various setups and foreshadowing.
The seemingly strange and unreasonable things in this volume would all be revealed one by one later.
When I was preparing Volume 2, things were simple. Since I had written about Ancient Greece, I had to write about Sparta and athletic competitions. Of course, I could hardly avoid the marathon either.
However, because this was a world with magic and divine power, many old things had become ineffective, so the wars leaned toward individual heroism.
That was inevitable in wars between high-level forces.
At the end of this volume, Suye officially set foot on the path of legend.
Just as he had chosen at the end of Volume 2.
He decided to develop Paper Making and Movable Type Printing—not to show off, not to make money, not to display a transmigrator's superiority, not merely to promote literacy, and not merely to spread culture or offer a shallow interpretation of the Four Great Inventions.
Instead, he did it to advance all of humanity. As a legendary figure, he demanded this of himself. "Why" was important.
Just as everyone ate, breathed, and lived, understanding what one lived for was even more important.
Suye had figured out why, so he did not even care that Paper Making and Movable Type Printing would strengthen the gods and the temples, because the progress of the age would not leave anyone behind.
Unless they stubbornly clung to the past.
Once the age began accelerating, anyone who obstructed its tide would be swallowed up.
