The light of the Divine Realm was pure white, some of it rich and some faint.
This divine light was mostly pure white and blindingly bright, but faint traces of red, gold, and gray were mixed into the white.
It revealed a faint hint of the extraordinary.
The meditation textbook devoted a great deal of space to describing the light of the Divine Realm, but it contained no record of this kind of divine light.
This beam of light was very thin, barely wide enough to accommodate a single person.
Countless thoughts surfaced in Suye's mind.
Why doesn't the book mention divine light like this? Is there something wrong with it? Could there be something even better...
Suye recalled the knowledge in the textbook and everything Teacher Niedern had taught, finally determining that even if this beam of divine light was not the best, it was at least among the best.
"I've forgotten how long I've been flying here, and this place is so vast that I might not be able to find it next time. I can't let this opportunity slip away."
Suye thought for a long while again, then resolutely rushed into the light.
"Ah..." Suye suddenly let out an embarrassed sound.
It was an indescribable sensation.
At that moment, Suye even wondered whether he had ascended and become a god, because the spiritual pleasure was simply too intense.
At that moment, Suye even wanted to abandon everything—what Legendary Mage, what godhood, he would give it all up, as long as he could stay in this beam of light and live as a lazy salted fish.
Every cell in Suye's body was singing, and every hair was belting out a song.
After an unknown amount of time, Suye felt a faint stinging throughout his body. He immediately remembered the description in the book: it was a sign that he had absorbed the maximum amount of divine light. If he continued, the divine light would completely assimilate him, dissolving his soul.
Suye hurriedly endured the ultimate pleasure and imagined himself leaving the Realm Barrier and returning to Athens City, back to his bedroom.
"Phew..."
Suye let out a long breath, slowly opened his eyes, and froze in his chair.
"Is this the power of the Divine Realm? Incredible... Huh?"
Suye suddenly turned his head and looked outside the door.
Why is it so bright?
Suye suddenly felt a sense of familiarity.
It seems like this happened yesterday too?
Suye rushed to the doorway to check the time on his Magic Book.
An animated image of the Plato Academy appeared on the Magic Book, along with the clock above Plato's main hall.
"Late again..."
Suye laughed helplessly. Who would have thought that one meditation session would last an entire night? He had never experienced that before.
With no other choice, Suye grabbed his book and ran outside.
The familiar morning, the familiar streets, the familiar people.
Figo, holding a loaf of bread, froze in place. He blinked, saw Suye rushing out, and wore a dazed expression. He felt as if he had seen this scene somewhere before, then suddenly felt a breeze sweep past him.
He blinked once, and the bread in his hand was gone again.
"Suye!" Figo shouted at Suye's retreating figure.
"I'll tear off the part you bit! Kind Uncle Figo!" Suye continued running without looking back.
Figo smiled helplessly, but then suddenly froze.
"Suye's aura seems a little different today. I'll have to take a good look next time we meet... I should finish my bread before going out in the future."
Figo helplessly returned home.
As Suye ran, he suddenly felt that something was wrong.
"Yesterday, I was a little tired when I reached this point, but today I'm not tired at all, and even the discomfort under my feet has lessened. Could I be about to become a Magic Apprentice?"
A look of wild joy appeared on Suye's face, but he quickly suppressed it.
"I can't get arrogant. I can't get arrogant..."
Suye ran all the way to the Plato Academy with a smile on his face. He glanced at the Sea Demon Fountain but did not dare wash up, rushing straight to the classroom.
Suye saw that strange young man playing with ants again. This time, the man did not interfere with the ants, so Suye paid him no mind.
Once again carrying the fragrance of earth and green grass, Suye reached the classroom door. This time, he was not even breathing heavily.
The students in the classroom could not help laughing. Horton, who had been beaten badly yesterday, laughed the loudest and wore a strange expression.
Teacher Niedern slowly turned his head and stared at Suye.
Suye clearly sensed that the warmth in Teacher Niedern's artificial eye had vanished.
Suye once again bent at a ninety-degree angle and said loudly, "Teacher, I'm sorry. I was late because I studied too hard. I have no excuses."
Niedern's expression was stern at first, but he suddenly examined Suye carefully, and a trace of warmth returned to his artificial eye.
"Two years."
Laughter erupted throughout the class.
"I accept the punishment," Suye happily agreed.
In the eyes of most of his classmates, Suye looked like a dead pig that was unafraid of boiling water.
Many of the students who had sympathized with Suye yesterday lightly shook their heads, their hearts filled with disappointment. Some even hoped that Horton would beat Suye up.
Pallas, however, stared at Suye in astonishment. It took her a long while to recover her usual icy expression.
Is this the strength of the Plato Academy? Being merely third from the bottom, advancing to Magic Apprentice at the beginning of second year would make him a minor prodigy at the Aristocratic Academy. But here, he can only be bullied! I must work even harder!
The Blue-Eyed Girl clenched her little fists again.
"Go back," Niedern said as he picked up his Magic Book and sent out a Magic Letter.
Suye happily returned to his seat. He had originally wanted to be punished for a few more years, so he had not expected his wish to be fulfilled.
Should I be late again tomorrow? Forget it. I'll give Teacher Niedern some face.
Hote whispered, "What's gotten into you? Don't tell me you've given up studying?"
Suye froze for a moment and looked at Hote in surprise, noticing the worry on his face.
Suye smiled and whispered, "You misunderstood. I practiced meditation the whole time yesterday and successfully entered a light that belongs to me. I feel full of power now. It won't be long before I advance to Magic Apprentice!"
Hote was so excited that he opened his mouth and almost shouted, but he hurriedly closed it, took out his Magic Book, and sent Suye a Magic Letter.
"Really? I'm so happy."
"Actually, it's nothing much."
The two began chatting through Magic Letters.
Pallas glanced at Suye from the side and sighed inwardly. He has clearly advanced to Magic Apprentice, yet he's hiding his strength. I never expected him to be so modest. Are all the students at the Plato Academy monsters?
Suye was chatting happily when he felt a cold gaze sweep over from the podium. He hurriedly stopped chatting and began studying seriously.
The first lesson happened to be the most important one: Basic Magic Study.
According to Suye's original perfect plan, he would briefly look through the book before bed, quickly review it again in the morning, and then listen to the lesson. That would make his learning especially effective.
But now that he had lost both opportunities to preview the material, Suye was a little worried. Yet as he listened, his worry faded.
Suye discovered that his "punishment measures" really had worked. Listening to the teacher explain the key points for previewing yesterday counted as one review, while writing the content on the blackboard counted as another preview. In effect, he had completed two short-interval previews. Even without previewing again, he could still follow the lesson quite well.
Moreover, Suye vaguely felt that his stamina and memory seemed slightly better than yesterday, making him even more enthusiastic about studying.
Because he was concentrating on the lesson, time passed quickly.
