Ch. 262Magic Poison

Suye woke in a sealed room suffering from Magic Poisoning and fought to survive using antidotes and improvised detoxification. Meanwhile, Liobo offered Rolon a chance to return to the Aristocratic Academy if he acted as a noble in the upcoming Champion Match, hinting at an agreement with the Baines Family.

  • Suye woke from a nightmare, found a poison-filled wooden box in his locked room, and realized an Anti-Magic Field and Magic Poison had weakened him.
  • Suye failed to summon help and used antidotes, goat's milk, egg whites, blood, and other remedies to combat the poison.
  • Suye drank Lake's third Advanced Antidote and sacrificed items in the Ruined Space to gain Battle Body and Wood-Type Talents for protection.
  • Liobo woke Rolon and questioned him about befriending Suye, insisting that Suye was a commoner and that the Egyptian Mage had never endangered Rolon.
  • Liobo offered to arrange Rolon's return to the Aristocratic Academy if he fulfilled a noble's duty in the upcoming Champion Match, and Rolon suspected Liobo had made a deal with the Baines Family.

Ch. 263Old God Star

Liobo pressured Rolon to kill Suye in the Champion Match, offering him entry to the Old God Star and a path to family glory. Rolon learned his family had prepared the arena and weakened Suye’s protections, leaving him to decide whether to carry out their plan.

  • Liobo promised Rolon family support, a marriage alliance, and qualification to enter the Old God Star if he acted as a noble in the Champion Match.
  • Rolon resisted killing Suye, his friend, but Liobo invoked the family’s glory and Rolon’s past killing of Lake to pressure him.
  • Liobo argued that Rolon had chosen to kill Lake himself and insisted that nobles should keep commoners beneath them.
  • Rolon accused Liobo of making him responsible for the bloodshed while the family covered it up, and Liobo said Rolon would kill Suye through a fair and impartial match.
  • Liobo revealed that the arena’s barriers were ready, Suye’s Goblin Servant had been exiled, poison and an Anti-Magic Field had weakened and isolated Suye, and Old Turner would keep him unaware until the match.

Ch. 264The Unsent Letter

Rolon learned that Liobo expected him to kill Suye and accepted a War God Temple device, but he pleaded to be released from his family's demands. Suye read Niedern's account of Lake's murder and Lake's unfinished letter before Turner arrived to apologize and explain the Rolon Family's actions.

  • Liobo gave Rolon a War God Temple device and pressured him to kill Suye, while Rolon questioned why he was being forced into it.
  • Rolon asked Liobo to let him go, then collapsed alone after Liobo left.
  • Suye read Niedern's letter revealing that Turner and the Rolon Family had caused Lake's parents' deaths and that Rolon had killed Lake after Lake softened in their fight.
  • Suye learned that Lake's unsent letter had apologized for missing 'Zackrey' and asked him to redefine the world.
  • Turner visited Suye, apologized on behalf of the Rolon Family, and said they had acted because they trusted no one with their family's honor.

Ch. 265Hero or Noble

After Old Turner explained that the Rolon Family had poisoned Suye to secure the tournament victory, he persuaded Suye to accept a future alliance in the Old God Star in exchange for staying quiet. Suye was left alone in the arena until a judge arrived and ordered his belongings seized, leaving his fate uncertain.

  • Old Turner admitted that the Rolon Family had used Slow Magic Poison and an Anti-Magic Field on Suye, then offered him two Golden Magic Artifacts and promised him an Old God Star entry quota if he kept the scheme from Rolon until after the battle.
  • Suye agreed to the arrangement but asked the Rolon Family to provide one more thing, which he would name at their residence, and told Old Turner to take away the smelly poison box.
  • Old Turner reported to Liobo that Suye had agreed, while an Eye of Shadow secretly watched them; Liobo wondered whether Rolon would choose a hero or a noble.
  • Suye read his Magic Book and exercised alone, but by seven in the morning Rolon had not visited and no one had brought him food.
  • A judge arrived with two Bronze Warriors, who took Suye's Magic Book, Spatial Ring, Underworld Serpent, and Magic Ox Rope while allowing him to keep his money pouch after inspection.

Ch. 266More Suitable Candidate

Suye entered the arena despite being unable to summon servants or use Fire Magic, then revealed that he could combine the Earth Element and Giant bloodlines. He began using evolved Stone Wall Technique to disrupt Rolon, leaving their duel underway.

  • Suye walked into the arena, greeted the crowd, and warmly embraced Rolon before they prepared to fight.
  • Suye tested his magic and discovered that Summon Apprentice Servant and Fire Magic were still suppressed, while his other elemental spells worked normally.
  • Suye awakened his Earth Element Bloodline and Giant Bloodline, astonishing the Earth Magic Association and drawing the attention of the Fire Magic Association.
  • Suye used an evolved Stone Wall Technique to lift and unbalance Rolon, repeatedly raising walls at Rolon's landing points.
  • Suye activated Heavy Pressure and Slowness, then cast another Stone Wall Technique as Rolon tried to recover.

Ch. 267Heart

Suye repeatedly battered Rolon with stone walls until he was badly injured, then confronted him over the tournament’s hidden schemes. The arena’s mages and students stood in support of Suye as Rolon’s accusations and Suye’s revelations stirred the spectators.

  • Suye used a succession of stone walls and Dusting to keep Rolon airborne until Rolon passed out and crashed to the ground.
  • Rolon recovered, accused Suye of deceiving him, and claimed Suye had hidden his strength and tricked him into the match.
  • When nobles called for Suye’s Magic Beard to be removed, Dean Laurence urged calm, while mages and students throughout the arena stood in a show of solidarity.
  • Rolon admitted his family had restricted Suye’s strength and apologized, but denied intending to kill him.
  • Suye accused Rolon of using poison, a Magic Array, and alliances with the Baines Family to target him, then displayed an empty Potion Bottle and said Rolon had already killed a commoner deskmate.

Ch. 268Are You in Need of Help?

Suye confronted Rolon with proof that Rolon had killed Lake, urged him to accept help, and repaid the money he owed. Rolon rejected him and activated the Rolon Family’s secret technique, but Suye’s Rock Spike pierced him as he charged.

  • Suye revealed that Lake’s antidote had saved him and that Master Plato’s recovered memories showed Rolon had killed Lake; Laurence confirmed the evidence was true.
  • Hote condemned Rolon, while Suye reminded him that Lake and his friends had tried to help him and pleaded with him to put down his weapons.
  • Rolon claimed the Baines Family and his grandfather had forced him, then activated the Rolon Family’s secret technique and shattered Suye’s Stone Wall.
  • Suye scattered two thousand Golden Eagles to repay Rolon, but Rolon called him a traitor and charged at him.
  • Suye cast Rock Spike, and the Stone Cone Flower pierced Rolon as he leaped toward it.

Ch. 269The Nobles' Responsibility

Suye used Rolon's defeat to challenge the nobles over their responsibilities and explained how pursuing a mission to improve the world could lead him toward Legendary power. He left the arena with his ideal reaffirmed: like climbing a mountain for a treasure, he would keep working toward his goal.

  • Rolon survived being impaled by Suye's Stone Cone Flower, but the War God Temple's Frenzy Potion left him unable to speak.
  • Suye offered Golden Eagles to nobles who had read The Book of Nobles, then highlighted its final line about a noble's responsibility.
  • Suye argued that greater power required greater responsibility to keep the powerful from losing control and destroying themselves or others.
  • Suye described his dream of making Athens, Greece, and the world better, and said that pursuing this mission was his path to becoming a Legendary Mage.
  • Suye compared achieving one's deepest desire to climbing a mountain to reach a treasure chest, and urged pursuing the goal despite the obstacles.

Ch. 270Glory

Suye challenged the nobles’ claim that glory could be inherited, arguing that it came from deeds and responsibility, not ancestry. After nobles threatened him and Rolon taunted him with his immortality and Lake’s death, Suye attacked Rolon again with Rock Spike, leaving him impaled and weakened.

  • Suye questioned Rolon and the nobles about inherited glory, citing Rolon I’s achievements and arguing that glory had to be earned through action.
  • Suye mocked the idea that glory passed through bloodlines or spiritual inheritance, and the commoners began to consider the implications for noble privilege.
  • Suye compared nobles claiming ancestral glory to giant babies feeding on their ancestors’ corpses, provoking outrage and threats from the nobles.
  • Two young nobles stood to threaten Suye, but the commoners shouted that they had heard them, and both nobles sat down again.
  • Rolon claimed his Power of Immortality would let him survive and taunted Suye about failing to save Lake.
  • Suye dispelled the Stone Cone Flower, then cast Rock Spike and pierced Rolon’s body, leaving him too weak to free himself.

Ch. 271A Little Bit

Suye killed Rolon in the arena after rejecting noble privilege, prompting nobles and commoners to face off. When the Enka Family head summoned Ares’s blood shadow to punish Suye, Athena’s statue destroyed it, killing the head of the Enka Family and ending the threat.

  • Suye explained to Rolon that ranking people as noble or base created the very inferiority Rolon felt, then declared that he wanted to make the world a little better.
  • Suye killed Rolon with Rolon’s sword while Laurence’s barrier kept the Saint Realm Warrior from intervening.
  • Nobles demanded Suye’s death, while Athens’s commoners stood to oppose them; the head of the Enka Family prayed to Ares and summoned the God of War Blood Shadow.
  • The God of War Blood Shadow raised its spear to strike Suye, but Athena’s statue appeared and destroyed it, killing the head of the Enka Family in the blast.
  • Pallas released the golden Medusa Necklace and sat down as the arena returned to calm, with Rolon’s corpse and head removed or left behind.

Ch. 272Trophy and Laurel

After the gods’ clash made the nobles wary of attacking Suye openly, they plotted to have him exiled and targeted later. Pallas protected Suye’s honors and arranged a bronze statue and the first performance of “Zackrey,” promising to ensure it went ahead.

  • Medels announced that Suye was a devotee of the Goddess of Wisdom, warning the nobles that attacking him dishonorably would challenge the goddess and her temple.
  • Charles and other nobles planned to seek Suye’s exile and later fabricate charges against him, while Andre declined to join them and revealed he was near reaching Silver.
  • Boris and Charles went to take Suye’s trophy and laurel, but Pallas seized both and rebuked them for trying to claim his honors.
  • Pallas asked Dean Laurence to make a bronze statue of Suye and arranged for it to stand in front of City Hall Square when “Zackrey” was performed.
  • Pallas promised that no one would interrupt the first performance of “Zackrey” and told Laurence to prepare for it to go ahead that night.

Ch. 273The Drama Takes the Stage

After Suye killed Rolon, supporters spread word of his play, Zackrey, while Suye remained confined and Liobo was prevented from taking revenge. Athens gathered at City Hall Square for the performance, where Suye’s new statue stood, and the curtain rose as nobles debated his fate.

  • Laurence announced that Suye’s play, Zackrey, would be performed that night and urged Athens’s commoners to attend.
  • Suye received his belongings and letters of support while he waited under guard, then reviewed the next day’s lessons.
  • Liobo ordered his battle spear, but Laurence confronted him and said he could not touch Suye until Suye reached the Holy Domain.
  • Crowds from across Athens filled City Hall Square, where the stage was built and a fresh bronze statue of Suye was displayed.
  • Andre persuaded the young nobles to watch the play without letting their grudges interfere, and the curtain rose.

Ch. 274Kill the Noble

Aeschylus's play about Zackrey's revolt against Andre moved Athens City's audience from outrage to openly shouting for the nobles' deaths. After Zackrey killed Andre onstage, the play ended with the refugees preparing to make their final stand against the nobles hunting them.

  • A prologue showed young Andre treating Zackrey as a beast, and the audience later learned that adult Andre had been exiled to Grey River Town.
  • In the first act, Andre exploited the commoners after a poor harvest, killed protesters, and ordered his guards to beat Zackrey.
  • In the second act, nobles hunted Zackrey's refugees, prompting Zackrey and the people of Grey River Town to call for rebellion and for the nobles to be killed.
  • In the third act, Zackrey's forty-four followers defeated Andre's guards, captured Andre, and shouted for his death alongside the crowd.
  • Zackrey killed Andre, and the refugees prepared to face the approaching nobles, vowing to make their deaths a blaze Athens City could see.

Ch. 275Kill Andre!

After the play about the Grey River Town Uprising stirred Athens into acclaiming Suye, the city’s people formed a vast queue to touch his Champion Statue. Suye was sentenced to ten years of exile, and Albert returned home with a magical prosthetic limb he had made himself.

  • Zackrey and the other actors reenacted the Grey River Town Uprising, prompting the crowd to chant for Suye and demand Andre’s death.
  • People lined up through the night to touch Suye’s Champion Statue, and the queue grew to more than one hundred thousand.
  • God of War Mountain sentenced Suye to ten years of exile, replacing his death sentence because the Goddess of Wisdom had taken an interest in him.
  • Jimmy invited Hote, Pallas, and Albert to join a meeting about helping Suye; Hote and Pallas agreed, while Albert declined.
  • Albert hurried home with a bronze magical prosthetic limb he had made and remembered meeting a one-legged man when he was seven.

Ch. 276Send You on Your Way

Albert fitted his drunken father with a magic prosthetic, only to be mocked and sent out to buy wine. Meanwhile, Niedern brought Suye his possessions and funds before preparing to send him into exile across the Aegean Sea.

  • Albert remembered promising his father he would become a Great Sculptor, then returned home with a magic prosthetic he had made for him.
  • Albert fitted the prosthetic to his father's leg, but his father ignored it, demanded money for wine, and threw an empty wine pot at him.
  • Albert left home in tears, remembering that his father had forgotten their promise.
  • Niedern met Suye and transferred his possessions, tournament rewards, and money to him before explaining that his Magic Book would no longer transmit messages outside Athens.
  • Suye asked Niedern to seek a Magic Source Badge by submitting Zackrey to the Magic Council, then discussed hiring protectors and defecting to another country.
  • Niedern told Suye that the temporary plan was for him to travel to the East Coast of the Aegean Sea, and agreed to send him on his way.

Ch. 277You Still Call Yourselves Human?

Suye left Athens aboard the Sea Dragon while fleeing the nobles, with Niedern and the other teachers supplying him with gear, advice, and a mountain of schoolwork. After a Saint Realm pursuer was swallowed by a colossal sea serpent, Suye realized the Academy had assigned him exams even in exile.

  • Suye paid Hill and told him how Kelton could seek help, then left Athens with Niedern for Lion Harbor.
  • Niedern warned Suye about the danger from the nobles and the sea, and Kadelios transferred the purchased magical supplies to him.
  • Suye boarded the Sea Dragon, greeted its crew, and sent Pallas a message promising they would watch “Zackrey” together when he returned.
  • The Sea Dragon set sail, and a giant Black Snake emerged from the sea and swallowed a Saint Realm Warrior pursuing Suye.
  • Niedern shouted that Suye’s Magic Book contained assignments and exam papers, leaving Suye horrified as the teachers smiled at the harbor.

Ch. 278Sisyphus

Pallas tried to keep Sisyphus from carrying out God of War Mountain’s order to arrest Suye, but their confrontation turned into a brutal duel. Sisyphus defeated Pallas and sent her crashing to the ground.

  • Niedern told the students that God of War Mountain had ordered Suye’s arrest on new charges, while Pallas was absent from class.
  • Pallas went to the City Guard camp and warned the generals not to leave until the next sunrise or cross the Golden Medusa.
  • Pallas asked Sisyphus to stay at the Pandion Family estate, but he said he would go arrest Suye because she was not his lover.
  • Pallas drew the Victory Spear Sword and challenged Sisyphus, who fought her with a branch until she cut him and forced him to draw the Burning Black Sword.
  • Sisyphus overwhelmed Pallas in their duel, drove her out onto the main road, and finally knocked her seven or eight meters away.

Ch. 279Who Do You Think You're Looking Down On?

Sisyphus stopped Pallas from confronting the City Guard, then punished soldiers who defied her order and sent the guard to capture Suye at dawn. After a middle-aged man destroyed the house of a God of War Mountain warrior who had attacked Suye’s statue, Athens’s magic associations and the Magic Council publicly rallied behind Suye.

  • Pallas asked Sisyphus not to go to the City Guard, but he refused and knocked her unconscious when she tried to use her sword.
  • Sisyphus learned that Pallas had ordered the City Guard to stay in its hall, killed a Golden Warrior who had left, and ordered the remaining soldiers to capture Suye at dawn.
  • Pallas learned that God of War Mountain had seized Suye’s statue and fainted while trying to get out of bed to confront them.
  • A middle-aged man hurled a Magical Spear at a house beneath God of War Mountain, killing the Saint Realm Warrior who had ordered Suye’s statue removed.
  • Suye’s statue was restored, and the magic associations announced positions for Suye, with Achilles and Master Alex disputing his appointment as vice president.
  • Master Laurence announced that Suye had become the youngest full member in Magic Council history.

Ch. 280Absolute Protection

Suye sacrificed his accumulated wealth and tournament rewards, gaining a vast array of talents and strengthening his Magic Tower. The city-state championship trophy yielded Absolute Protection: Will, leaving him eager to see what the laurel would provide.

  • Suye sacrificed 230,000 Golden Eagles and gained numerous talents, Mana Roots, and Mana Sources, bringing his total to 95 talents and forming the Earth Cloud Palace.
  • Suye sacrificed the Concealing Breath Waist Ornament, Little Magic Boat, Magic Lamp, badges, and tournament invitations, gaining talents including Water Pressure, Dense Fog, Devil Affinity, and Super Speed Running.
  • Suye sacrificed the silver divine-power battle shield and gained the Fourth Ring talents Golden Body, Super Speed Reaction, Contagion, and Fast Incantation.
  • Suye sacrificed the City-state Tournament trophy and gained Absolute Protection: Will, which could block a Mental Attack beyond his endurance limit.
  • Suye placed the championship laurel on the altar, anticipating its result.

Ch. 281Magic Solidification

Suye gained several powerful talents and abilities from sacrifices, then summoned an enhanced Rock Dwarf servant after his Magic Tree and Magic Tower advanced. The chapter left Suye preparing to learn more Bronze spells aboard the Sea Dragon.

  • Suye obtained a Bronze Magic Avatar and Magic Solidification, choosing Rock Armor to solidify when he advanced to Bronze Mage.
  • Suye combined the Miracle Stone with the Rock Dwarf remains and gained the Servant Enhancement talent along with three other talents.
  • Suye continued studying during the Sea Dragon’s voyage and saw his Magic Tree grow beyond three meters, expanding his Magic Tower to three stories.
  • Suye inscribed Summon Black Iron Servant and summoned the dwarf king, whom he renamed Wang Dachui, along with his Black Demon Sheep.
  • Suye tested Wang Dachui’s strength, praised him, and sent him into the Magic Tower to meet his new friends.
