Ch. 602The Judges

As Suye led the Greek infantry and cavalry toward the Persians, Xerxes relied on mage-built obstacles to counter the cavalry, while Ajiman teased him over her interest in Suye. The Judges arrived at Pherae Pass, withheld judgment until the battle ended, and watched the armies approach as the Persians began reshaping the battlefield against Suye.

  • Miltiades allowed additional Golden Warriors to join Suye, and Suye’s magic enhanced the Greek infantry and cavalry as they marched out.
  • Ajiman challenged Xerxes to promise her the World Tree Branch if he lost, then admitted she wanted it because Suye wanted it.
  • The Judges arrived by Magic Carriage and, after inspecting the battlefield, Aldis decided they would wait until the battle ended before making their judgment.
  • Xerxes’s mages spread obstacle spells across the ground to disrupt the cavalry’s charge, leaving the Greeks worried about how Suye would respond.
  • The Judges and Greek commanders questioned whether Suye could overcome the terrain defenses as both armies drew closer.

Ch. 603Like a Reenactment

Suye stripped away the Persian army’s defenses with the Ice Wind Dual Queens’ gale, then broke its formation with repeated Tornado Techniques and a cavalry assault. The million-strong Persian army collapsed, leaving Xerxes watching the Greeks rout his forces.

  • Suye warned the Persian mages that the battle was destined to be lost, and some Saint Realm Mages and Gold Mages withdrew.
  • The Ice Wind Dual Queens unleashed an Azure Gale that erased Persian barriers, defensive artifacts, and Divine Power Protection.
  • As the armies closed in, the gale disrupted Persian archery and caused the Flying Snake Legion and Gilgamesh's Heroic Royal Guard to flee.
  • Suye cast dozens of Tornado Techniques that shredded the Persian front line and opened a path for the Greek cavalry.
  • The Greek cavalry charged through the Persian army three times, and the million-strong force collapsed into a rout.
  • Xerxes hovered in the sky, watching the Greek cavalry cut through the fleeing Persians.

Ch. 604Silver Blade Garden

Xerxes fled as Mahar attacked Suye with a concealed ambush and a storm of silver blades. Suye survived Mahar’s first strikes by exhausting his Radiant Flash and raising his Domains, then revealed Divine Might Overlap as Mahar’s Divine Might blades closed in.

  • Xerxes flew away from the battlefield and urged Ajiman to act, promising that one of Mahar’s granddaughters would marry into the Royal Family.
  • A Persian soldier transformed into blue smoke and attacked Suye while a Golden Mage’s silver sphere disrupted the battlefield’s ranged weapons, but Suye escaped with Radiant Flash.
  • Mahar teleported behind Suye and struck at him, but the Ice Wind Dual Queens and Suye’s layered Domains delayed him long enough for Suye to use his final Radiant Flash.
  • Mahar unleashed successive Silver Blade Flowers, surrounding Suye’s Domain with waves of blades, while Suye raised ninety layers of Jade City Wall.
  • Mahar empowered five rounds of silver blades with Divine Might, but Suye doubled the Divine Might on Guardian City-state and Heaven’s Fortress, causing the ordinary blades to shatter.

Ch. 605Medusa's Might

Mahar unleashed his Heaven of All Moons attack against Suye, but Euclid and Miltiades intervened before the giant sword could kill him. Suye invoked Athena through the Medusa's Shield, unleashing a petrifying curse across the battlefield that struck Mahar and swept toward Xerxes.

  • Suye summoned a divine-might Holy Tree Fortress, which battered and weakened Mahar's divine silver blades.
  • Mahar transformed into a silver moon and plunged toward Suye as a giant sword, but Euclid opened a corridor of Teleportation Gates and trapped the attack in a figure-eight path.
  • Euclid, Miltiades, Medels, and Tagora reached Suye; Miltiades protected them with a shield as Mahar's attack collided with it, then fought Mahar in the air.
  • Suye called on Athena to grant him the Gorgon's power through the Medusa's Shield, blasting Mahar backward and summoning a giant Medusa head that petrified Persians across the battlefield.
  • Mahar begged Xerxes to save him, but Xerxes fled; Miltiades directed the Medusa's gaze toward Xerxes, and its petrifying beams swept through the Persians around him.

Ch. 606Legendary Intervention

After Xerxes fled the petrifying battlefield, Suye and the Greeks faced a new threat from the temples and an order from Allied Forces Headquarters. Miltiades considered Suye’s advice to keep the exhausted cavalry at Pherae Pass, then announced that Suye could be promoted to general.

  • Xerxes escaped with fewer than one thousand Persians as Suye and the Greeks raised their middle fingers at him, while the battlefield lay covered in petrified soldiers.
  • Aldis ordered the temple chariots to Vale of Tempe, and a legendary priestess of Goddess of Revenge Temple vowed to hunt Suye after the war.
  • Suye carried Euclid to Pherae Pass, where Euclid recovered after Medels treated him, and Miltiades held a conference reviewing the battles and praising Suye.
  • A four-winged magic eagle delivered orders that Gilgamesh was marching toward Vale of Tempe and that the Guardian Cavalry Corps should attack Olusson City before striking the Persian army.
  • Suye advised Miltiades that the exhausted cavalry must rest, and Miltiades said Suye could be promoted to general as the commanders pledged to support him.

Ch. 607Remembering Something

Suye advised Miltiades to withdraw from Pherae Pass when Vale of Tempe fell and warned that the cavalry should avoid head-on charges. He then learned that Euclid had recovered one lost memory but could not reveal it, while news of Suye’s victory spread across Greece and made him a celebrated hero.

  • Miltiades sent a Gold General and ten battle-tested soldiers to advise Vale of Tempe, then asked the generals to discuss their defenses and withdrawal plans.
  • Suye argued that the cavalry should be kept out of frontal assaults and that the Greeks should withdraw from Pherae Pass when Vale of Tempe fell.
  • Miltiades returned Medusa's Shield to Suye after their private conversation.
  • Suye found Euclid on the city wall, where Euclid revealed that he had remembered one of the two things he had forgotten but could not tell Suye what it was.
  • Euclid said he would focus on completing 'Elements of Geometry' while letting his memories return naturally, and Suye encouraged him to keep working.
  • Reports and Magic Images of Suye’s victory spread across Greece, where Athenians and Spartans celebrated him as a hero.

Ch. 608Bloodletting

Suye watched Gilgamesh’s disciplined siege steadily weaken the Greek forces at Vale of Tempe while political paralysis deepened among their commanders. As the Judgement Hall of the Gods watched from above, Xerxes questioned two mages about their secret mission for his sister Yixinna and invoked wartime authority.

  • Greek citizens and bards spread Suye’s exploits despite bans on broadcasting images of him and Miltiades, and news of the Greek victory drove the Egyptian army to retreat from Crete Island.
  • Gilgamesh arrived outside Vale of Tempe with over two million soldiers and Hero Palace, then built defenses and began a coordinated, relentless siege.
  • Suye and Miltiades welcomed Darius’s decision to send another million troops, seeing the expanding war as a drain on Persia’s resources.
  • The Judgement Hall of the Gods’ adjudicators watched Vale of Tempe, and fear of punishment drove its commanders to avoid action and shift blame.
  • After five days of continuous attacks and worsening Greek disunity, Suye concluded that Vale of Tempe was close to falling.
  • Xerxes confronted a Holy Domain mage and a Gold Mage about their mission to Rome for Yixinna, then claimed wartime authority to compel them to answer.

Ch. 609Scepter and Branch

Xerxes seized the World Tree Branch from Yixinna’s mages and offered it in exchange for the World Scepter, while Suye and Miltiades negotiated a separate deal with him at Pherae Pass. Suye received both the branch and a Legendary Magic Lamp, and Miltiades ordered preparations to withdraw.

  • Xerxes used magic to take the World Tree Branch from Yixinna’s mages and told them he would exchange it for the World Scepter.
  • Xerxes contacted Suye at Pherae Pass, but Suye ignored him until Miltiades offered to serve as an intermediary.
  • Suye agreed to trade the World Scepter for the World Tree Branch and a Legendary Magic Lamp, with Miltiades handling the exchange.
  • Miltiades concealed the transaction inside his Legendary Saint Realm, and Xerxes’s Flying Carpet departed for the Vale of Tempe.
  • Miltiades ordered the troops to resume normal duties and prepare to withdraw, while Suye returned with the World Tree Branch and Legendary Magic Lamp.

Ch. 610Servant Lamp God

Suye sacrificed Xerxes's Legendary Magic Lamp and a World Tree Branch, gaining an Incarnation reward and two powerful Ancient Tree bloodlines. After learning to summon the Lamp God, he discovered its abilities were limited at his current rank, though it could cast his known spells instantly.

  • Suye sacrificed the Legendary Lamp and chose the Legendary Incarnation reward, then sacrificed the World Tree Branch and absorbed the Ancient Tree Priest and Ancient Tree Lord bloodlines.
  • Suye discovered that Natural Territory blessed plants across all his lands, while Combat Plants and Plant Armed strengthened his Wood Magic and Spiritual Life gave it intelligence.
  • Suye tried hundreds of times before absorbing the Legendary Magic Lamp, then summoned its muscular Lamp God.
  • The Lamp God explained that it could store magic power, speed its recovery, and cast Suye's known spells while inheriting his talents, but its first two abilities were weak compared with Suye's own power.
  • The Lamp God revealed that all its spells had zero casting time.

Ch. 611The Entire Army Retreats

Suye’s army withdrew from Pherae Pass after the Vale of Tempe fell, and Suye warned the generals that Persia would pursue them toward Thermopylae. The Greeks began sacrificing successive rear guards to cover their retreat, while Suye’s force prepared to confront the pursuers at the Small Plain.

  • Suye questioned the Lamp God about its abilities, then studied books on magic and the Magic Lamp while Persia left Pherae Pass unchallenged.
  • On the tenth day of the Battle of the Vale of Tempe, Miltiades and the generals concluded that the Vale would fall within two days, and they prepared to retreat.
  • Before dawn on the eleventh day, Miltiades led more than two hundred thousand soldiers out of Pherae Pass toward Thermopylae after the Allied Forces Headquarters abandoned twenty thousand troops as a rear guard.
  • Suye warned the generals that Gilgamesh’s army would pursue them and that a panicked mass retreat could cause a deadly crush at Thermopylae.
  • Suye proposed using cavalry-friendly terrain and supporting infantry to stop the Persian pursuit, while warning that the Allied Forces might keep sacrificing rear guards instead of resisting.
  • After the Vale of Tempe fell, the Persians pursued the Greeks and repeatedly overwhelmed their rear guards; the Vale’s forces reached the Small Plain and left twenty thousand soldiers to cover the retreat.

Ch. 612Where Is He?

Suye led the Hupang Cavalry Legion to Small Plain and annihilated the Persian forces pursuing the Greek army with powerful tornado magic. As Persian reinforcements gathered beyond the pass, the Greeks fortified their position, while Aldis and the judges recognized Suye’s deeds and discussed awarding him Greece’s highest honors.

  • Suye hurried more than ninety thousand cavalrymen through Pherae Pass, bolstering their strength with Heavenly Fortress and his aura talent.
  • Suye arrived at Small Plain, rallied the retreating Greek soldiers, and led the Hupang Cavalry Legion into the pass.
  • Suye and the Ice Wind Dual Queens swept tornadoes through the pass, killing the Persian pursuit force as the cavalry advanced without finding anyone left to fight.
  • The Greeks built a defensive wall at the entrance to Vale of Tempe, and another Persian force halted after seeing the bloodied road and Suye’s tornadoes.
  • Aldis praised Suye for holding to his mission despite the Allied Forces Headquarters’ mistreatment, and the judges agreed to award him the battle’s first merit and the Great Achiever and Savior Medals.
  • Aldis said he would apply for Suye to receive the “Greeks” title and become a senior general if Greece won the battle.

Ch. 613Do You Want to Be Crowned King?

Suye and the Greek forces reached Thermopylae after the temples punished Greek commanders and families who had undermined the war effort. As the Persian Army arrived, its delegation demanded surrender and offered Suye the throne of Uruk if he joined Persia.

  • Aldis announced that the temples would establish a Judgement Hall at Thermopylae to investigate the slaughter of Greek soldiers and the defeat at Vale of Tempe.
  • Suye retreated toward Thermopylae while Di Aotian, the Ice Wind Dual Queens, and Lamp God held off the Persian Army, killing many enemies before Persian forces killed the defenders and lost seventy-five Gold-ranked fighters.
  • Suye arrived at Thermopylae, where a major temple trial stripped families of rank, punished commanders, and placed Miltiades in charge of the pass with Suye as deputy commander.
  • Themistocles blocked the Persian Navy at Hunters Strait after removing nobles who refused to support Suye and Miltiades.
  • A Persian delegation demanded Thermopylae's surrender and offered rewards to Greek soldiers and commanders who defected.
  • The Persian envoy relayed Gilgamesh's offer to abdicate and make Suye the new king of Uruk if Suye joined Persia.

Ch. 614Magic House Army?

Suye rejected Gilgamesh’s offer to make him King of Uruk, choosing instead to pursue philosophy and magic. The next morning, the Persians attacked Thermopylae with heavily protected bronze siege huts, and Suye prepared to answer the assault with the Lamp God’s fire magic.

  • The Persian envoy offered Suye the chance to become the new King of Uruk, but Suye declined and said he wanted to become the Philosopher King and Magic King.
  • Miltiades ordered the Greek generals to prepare for battle after the envoy warned that Gilgamesh’s army would arrive in one day.
  • The Persians advanced on Thermopylae with bronze magic huts that resisted arrows, spears, rocks, and most Greek spells.
  • The Magic House Army reached the city wall and began battering it while its soldiers fired magic bolts at the defenders.
  • As the Greek generals urged Miltiades to send out the Golden Warriors, Suye said he would handle the attack and ordered the Lamp God to use fire magic.

Ch. 615The Great Taunt

Suye’s Lamp God devastated the Persian forces with an enormous Hellfire Rain of Fire while Suye studied on the walls of Thermopylae. After the Persians failed to find an effective way past the spell, Suye challenged their Gold Rank fighters and insulted the Persian army.

  • The Lamp God used an expanded Rain of Fire that melted the Persian Magic Houses and burned the troops inside them to ash.
  • Suye left further defense to the Lamp God, sat down to study, and watched as a Persian commander led a charge that the Lamp God stopped with another Rain of Fire.
  • Persian forces tried defensive enchantments and thousands of Magic Dissolution spells, but the Rain of Fire ended only when its duration ran out.
  • Greek mages concluded that only a Saint Realm Mage could reliably counter the Lamp God’s Rain of Fire, while both armies spent the morning testing ways to overcome it.
  • Suye challenged the Persians to send a Gold Rank fighter and declared that Persia’s three million troops would lower their brows before him, provoking furious curses.

Ch. 616Ancestor Totem

Suye provoked the Persians into accepting a pre-battle challenge and faced Kaharuo, who wagered a powerful Heroic Ancestor Totem. The rules were set and both fighters began preparing, with their duel still to come.

  • Suye taunted the Persian army and challenged its Saint Realm Warriors, prompting five warriors to step forward.
  • Suye required a million Golden Eagles' worth of collateral, and Kaharuo offered his tribe's Heroic Ancestor Totem.
  • Suye pledged his Heroic Divine Power Spear and another piece of equipment, promising the spear to Kaharuo regardless of the result.
  • A Persian mage explained the challenge's restrictions, and Suye agreed to limit his offensive Domains while using Guardian Earth for defense.
  • Suye and Kaharuo began changing their equipment after being warned that activating transcendent gear would mean defeat.

Ch. 617Spear of the Seven Elements

Suye defeated Kaharuo through his Guardian Earth domain and the threat of the Spear of the Seven Elements, then received the Persian Ancestor Totem and helped restore Greek morale. He began another duel against Tramont, using the Spear of the Six Elements instead of the stronger spell he had promised to avoid.

  • Suye used Guardian Earth and its stone pillars to trap Kaharuo, but Hastings surrendered before the fight could continue.
  • Suye revealed five Spears of the Seven Elements, and Kaharuo conceded before giving Suye the Ancestor Totem; Suye gave Kaharuo a Heroic golden spear in return.
  • Leonidas, Pollux, and Castor appeared among the Spartan Warriors, who shouted Suye's name and helped lift Greek morale.
  • Suye challenged the remaining Persians to fight without the Spear of the Seven Elements, and Tramont gathered two million Golden Eagles' worth of collateral with Hastings and the other Persians' help.
  • Suye began his duel with Tramont by casting the Spear of the Six Elements, prompting Tramont to object that Suye had promised not to use an elemental spear.

Ch. 618You're Lying!

Suye defeated Tramont with his Spear of the Six Elements, then beat another Saint Realm Warrior by having the Hell Unicorn fight him. He offered to face the next Persian challenger without using servants or elemental spears, and Kamola accepted as the Persian army’s morale weakened.

  • Suye wounded Tramont with five Spears of the Six Elements, and Tramont conceded before Suye collected the wager.
  • Suye challenged the Persian Saint Realm Warriors to face him without elemental spears, and a warrior charged through his Rain of Fire.
  • Suye's Hell Unicorn overcame the warrior's defenses and pierced his chest, forcing Hastings to concede.
  • Suye offered to face the next warrior without servants, and Kamola accepted after the Persians gathered another wager.
  • Kamola demanded that Suye release his defensive magic, and Suye calmly replied that it was already active.

Ch. 619The Last Time

Suye defeated Kamola and then continued fighting a succession of Persian Saint Realm Warriors in Challenges Before Battle, despite his growing exhaustion. After ten victories, he stood deathly pale and barely upright, leaving the Persian army baffled by how he had endured.

  • Suye flew out of Kamola's reach and wore down the Saint Realm Warrior with repeated Fire, Wind, and Ice Magic until Kamola surrendered.
  • A fifth Persian Saint Realm Warrior challenged Suye; Suye won after the opponent fought defensively and surrendered when his divine power was nearly gone.
  • Suye accepted the sixth challenge and won despite growing slower and less accurate, convincing the Persians that his magical power and mental energy were failing.
  • A seventh Persian Saint Realm Warrior challenged Suye, who won while switching to wide-area magic as his single-target spells lost accuracy.
  • Suye defeated the eighth, ninth, and tenth challengers, then stood deathly pale and unable to stand upright as the Persian army wondered how he had persisted.

Ch. 620Old God Battlefield

After winning fourteen consecutive challenges despite his exhaustion, Suye faced Adus, a powerful Persian Saint Realm Warrior, and demanded stakes worth ten million before agreeing to fight. Adus and the Persians assembled the required stakes, including a rare Star Ring Gate to the Old God Battlefield, and the next battle began with Suye raising defenses and unleashing swarms of poisonous bees.

  • Suye won the thirteenth and fourteenth challenges, then said he could no longer fly and demanded five million in stakes for any further match.
  • Adus, Vice-Captain of the Heroic Royal Guard, challenged Suye, who demanded ten million in stakes and offered Medusa's Shield as collateral.
  • Adus offered a Star Ring Gate to the Old God Battlefield and a collection of valuables, while General Hastings supplied three prestigious medals to make up the remaining value.
  • Suye and Adus established their stakes with the gods as witnesses, then prepared for the battle.
  • Suye cast several layers of armor and activated his Ancient Tree abilities before filling the battlefield with poison and sending three swarms of poisonous bees at Adus.

Ch. 621Steel Tree Man

Suye overwhelmed Adus with wood-element magic transformed by his talents, turning the battlefield into a forest of armed steel tree men. As Adus remained surrounded, Suye’s magic continued to grow, regenerate, and awaken into new forces.

  • Suye summoned fist-sized metallic Poison Bees, Hundred Vine Trees, and crossbow-armed Ancient Tree Guards to attack Adus.
  • Adus defended against the bees, vines, and crossbow bolts but was repeatedly forced to halt his advance.
  • Suye covered the battlefield in Jungle Technique trees and summoned more ranged Ancient Tree Guards, vines, and bees to trap Adus.
  • Suye used Awaken Tree Man, turning the trees into steel-armored warriors that charged Adus.
  • Suye’s Growth talent gave his Ancient Tree Guards extra crossbow-bearing arms, while Magic Rebirth and Sound of Life revived decayed spells as new Steel Tree Men.
