"Darling, look. Everyone's come to see you." Messi's wife gently shook Messi's shoulder.
Only then did she bring him back from his daze. Messi looked up at the people in the hospital room. He knew all of them, except for two whom he had never seen before.
Yet those two were surrounded by everyone else, clearly not ordinary fans.
"Messi, let me introduce you. This is our Barça's Big Boss, the Asian Richest Man from China, Mr. Jiang Siming. You've heard of him, right?" Segura quickly introduced him.
Messi thought for a moment before remembering. He said to Jiang Siming, "I've watched your basketball games. Your basketball skills are incredible."
Jiang Siming hadn't expected Messi to know him because of basketball. Everyone else knew him because of his title as the richest man.
Then he thought about it. Messi was an athlete, and sports were naturally what interested him most. It wasn't surprising that he knew him through basketball.
"I've watched your football games too—and I've been watching them for many years."
Jiang Siming smiled as he replied.
Messi gave a gentlemanly smile, then said somewhat bleakly, "I may never be able to watch them again."
Before Jiang Siming could say anything, Zhao Xiaoxiao spoke up. "Relax, relax. With my dad here, this is nothing."
Zhao Xiaoxiao spoke fluent English as well. For a top student of her level, English was extremely easy.
Messi thought the child was joking. He merely smiled without responding.
From this, it was clear that Messi really was a gentleman. Even at a time like this, he didn't lose his temper with others.
