Akainu and the others saw everything clearly from the execution platform. The assassination had failed.
"Damn it! Who ruined our plan?" Akainu roared.
"Forget it. Assassination was dishonorable to begin with. With our current strength, dealing with Whitebeard will still be more than enough. I can clearly feel that Whitebeard is in much worse shape than before."
Garp snorted coldly, clearly disdainful of Akainu's scheme.
Akainu said nothing—or perhaps he simply could not be bothered to speak.
Why should we need schemes when dealing with pirates? In his heart, all he knew was that the Marines were justice. That was enough.
His plan having failed and his pent-up fury having nowhere to go, Akainu used Geppo several times and vanished from the execution platform.
He began attacking the pirates below.
Once Akainu started, he quickly became bloodthirsty. He did not care whether he was using too much force. As long as someone was a pirate, he crushed them without mercy.
The Whitebeard Pirates suffered heavy casualties in no time.
Whitebeard grew anxious. He wanted to go help, but Fujitora, Ryokugyu, and Aokiji—three Marine Admirals—blocked his path.
Even Whitebeard would have to fight for a long time against three Admirals.
"Damn Marines! They actually found two more people with Admiral-level strength."
Whitebeard was furious. In truth, apart from himself, no one on his side could contend with an Admiral.
Even the most outstanding of his sons, Marco the Phoenix, could not do it.
