"No, no, you can't leave."
Scarlet Witch's radiant face was filled with urgency, and the words burst out of her mouth.
"Why can't I leave?"
Jiang Siming asked in confusion.
"Because... because..."
"Because what? Spit it out." Jiang Siming sneered.
Scarlet Witch's mind raced. Suddenly, an idea struck her, and she said, "Because Earth still needs you to protect it. What if, after you leave, someone like Thanos invades Earth again?"
"Don't worry. The powerful planetary races in the Milky Way Galaxy were wiped out by Thanos long ago. No one will invade Earth again." Jiang Siming spoke casually.
"But... what about other galaxies? What if another galaxy invades while you're gone?"
Before Scarlet Witch could finish, Jiang Siming interrupted her.
"What are you really trying to say?"
"I..."
Jiang Siming suddenly turned his head and looked at her with shining eyes. "Weren't you the one who hated me most? After the way I treated you, you hated me to the bone. You should be happy that I'm leaving. Besides, once I'm gone, you won't have to see me at the Avengers every day."
Scarlet Witch was rendered speechless. As she looked into Jiang Siming's eyes, deep as a galaxy, fixed intensely on her, her mind completely failed her.
That's right. Wasn't I the one who hated and despised him most? If he left Earth forever, I should have been happy. But why couldn't I feel happy at all?
Instead, she felt a deep sense of loss and anxiety. Torn by conflicting emotions, Scarlet Witch battled herself inwardly and was utterly miserable.
By then, Jiang Siming had already risen and was preparing to return to his seat.
As his back moved farther away, Scarlet Witch could no longer keep pretending. She abruptly stood up.
"I don't want you to leave!"
