When he returned from his father's place, Mother Jiang had already been chatting with Yin Zhirou for over an hour.
Seeing that Mother Jiang still looked unsatisfied, as though she hadn't gotten her fill of the conversation, Jiang Siming grew curious about what the two of them had been discussing.
"What did my mom tell you?" Jiang Siming asked as he climbed into bed.
Yin Zhirou covered her lips and giggled. "She was just telling me about the embarrassing things you did when you were little."
"Was I really that embarrassing as a kid? Impossible." Jiang Siming denied it outright. I've been wise and mighty my whole life.
Yin Zhirou, however, laughed like a silly little girl, burying herself in the blankets and laughing her head off.
"What are you laughing at? I never did anything embarrassing when I was little. My mom must've made it all up." Jiang Siming grew a little uneasy at the way she was laughing.
Yin Zhirou finally stopped laughing and tried hard to calm herself down. Holding back her laughter, she said to Jiang Siming, "Auntie said that when you were little, you and your friends were chasing each other around. Everyone else jumped over a mound of dirt, but you took one big step right onto it, and then—poof. It turned out to be a cesspit. Hahahaha."
After saying that, Yin Zhirou collapsed onto the bed again, clutching her stomach as she laughed. She thought that when she went home for the Mid-Autumn Festival and told her sisters about it, they would laugh for ages too.
Jiang Siming's mouth twitched when he heard that, and memories gradually rose in his mind. Yes, when he was little... he really had done something that stupid.
His mother had even fished him out of the cesspit.
