Ying Fei stood before the carriage with tears streaming down his face, his hands trembling.
He cautiously reached out and touched the Wooden Figure.
The Wooden Figure sat in the driver's seat, both feet planted firmly on the pedals, its arms inserted into the front of the carriage to hold itself in place. It remained utterly motionless, as if it had held that pose for a thousand years.
After touching it for a while, Ying Fei breathed a sigh of relief. This Wooden Figure did not attack people on sight like the one his great-grandfather had encountered.
It seemed to be nothing more than a model, incapable of moving at all.
However, Ying Fei did not think it truly could not move. Perhaps it had broken down after being left for so long, or perhaps it needed some medium to control it.
After searching for a while, Ying Fei climbed into the carriage and found a black stone disk on the seat. It was as thin as a phone, small enough to fit comfortably in one hand.
From its shape, it looked like an oval disk cut in half through the middle.
Ying Fei picked up the stone disk and was just about to examine it when his hand moved, and he suddenly heard a creak. The motionless Wooden Figure began moving its legs and actually started riding the Wooden Cart.
"What!"
Ying Fei was startled and instantly froze.
The Wooden Figure only pedaled twice before stopping again.
Seeing this, Ying Fei shook the stone disk once more. The Wooden Figure continued pedaling, carrying him along the wooden beam.
The faster he shook it, the faster the Wooden Figure pedaled. Ying Fei excitedly gripped the stone disk and shook it wildly.
