Early in the morning, at a dump in the Northern Outskirts of New York, a homeless man jolted awake on an abandoned sofa bed.
He heard a tremendous boom, followed by a rumbling tremor, as if some heavy object were shaking beneath the ground.
Following the noise, the homeless man looked over and saw the exhaust duct on the first floor of an office building at a nearby garbage recycling station suddenly explode. An exhaust fan flew out of it..
It looked like an ordinary exhaust fan, with nothing but blades. A tiny clockwork spring was attached to the stator at the center of the fan.
The fan had an astonishing rotational force. The airflow it produced was enough to keep itself suspended and flying, demonstrating just how fast it was spinning.
God only knew how an exhaust fan connected to no power source could possess such tremendous energy.
Just as the homeless man stood there in utter bewilderment, the exhaust fan flew toward him, looking like a drone.
If it grazed him, those rapidly spinning blades would be enough to slice his head off.
"Ah!"
The homeless man dropped his sandwich in fright, stumbled and fell to the ground, then hurriedly crawled several steps away.
The exhaust fan ignored him and flew quickly and determinedly past his side.
Then came a series of deafening crashes.
The homeless man watched as the blades shredded everything in their path. A tall fir tree was churned until its branches and leaves flew everywhere, while countless splinters and fragments shot out with tremendous force.
"OMG..." The homeless man crossed himself and followed the fan curiously.
Just then, several people charged out of the garbage recycling station behind him. They carried guns and quickly gave chase.
"Rat-tat-tat!"
They fired while pursuing it, accurately striking
