The streets rang with cries, and chaos reigned.
Someone drove straight onto the sidewalk, forcefully running over the crowd as they went.
A Society member crashed onto the hood like a falling boulder, while a Qiong Alloy spear stabbed diagonally into the paving stones.
With a bang, the rear of the car sprang high into the air, and the entire vehicle flipped forward and flew away.
Just as it was about to crush a family to death, the invisible air suddenly solidified like a wall of bronze and iron, stopping the car.
Bang! The car landed as though it had crashed onto a transparent platform, suspended above the family's heads.
"Did they come to help us?"
Many civilians thought the Society members were enemies when they saw them.
After all, the Society members could step on air, making it clear they weren't normal people. They had also forcibly dragged people out of their homes earlier, so some had even imagined that aliens looked just like them.
"Thank you for saving our lives. May I ask who you are..." the rescued family asked.
"Don't stop. Keep moving. Follow the roads toward Nerima Ward. There are United Nations forces waiting for you there. We'll clear the obstacles along the way!" the Society member said.
Some roads had been blocked by traffic jams that caused accidents.
Society members worked in teams of two or three to clear paths for the civilians. They used Air Walls to lift cars apart and even simply tossed obstacles onto the roofs of the low buildings on either side.
"I understand now. They're Earth's special forces."
"This is unbelievable. Our technology has advanced this far? Individual soldiers can counteract gravity!"
"Then the seawater hanging in the air instead of crashing down must also be the result of our
