Universal Love. After school that afternoon, black clouds blanketed the sky, and continuous streaks of rain fell.
It had been raining for three days straight.
Class 8 students rushed into the hallway with umbrellas. On the cement ground outside, ripples spread in circles, like blooming and vanishing splashes.
Xue Yuantong rested her head on a textbook, her little braid tucked beside her face. Her bright eyes blinked. "Jiang Ning, do you know what I'm going to say?"
"No, I don't."
"Hmph. Remember to bring me food. I'm done talking. I'm sleeping."
She tucked her head into her arms and peacefully went to sleep.
She did not care whether Jiang Ning agreed or not. He would agree anyway.
Geng Lu returned from the back row with an umbrella. "Let's go together."
She and her friends had been to that Carbon Pot Chicken Restaurant before and had gotten to know the owner. They had his number.
The afternoon break was brief. She called the owner and had them prepare the dishes in advance, so they could eat as soon as they arrived.
As soon as school let out, students streamed from the classroom, their voices carrying through the room.
"This rain is way too heavy!"
"I don't think an umbrella will be enough. Our shoes might get soaked."
"Forget it, let's go down and take a look first."
Class 8 was on the second floor. The students did not linger long before heading east and taking the stairs beside Class 1 downstairs.
Geng Lu and Jiang Ning did not leave. They were waiting for someone.
By the time fewer than half the students remained in the classroom, a tall girl appeared at the door.
