At the Grilled Fish Restaurant, groups of customers gathered around the outdoor tables, chatting away and enjoying the lively summer night.
Xue Yuantong drained a large glass of Iced Fermented Rice Wine. The heavy glass landed on the table with a clang.
She lazily slumped into her plastic chair and looked around at Jiang Ning and Chuchu. At this moment, this was probably the best time of all.
"I'm full, I'm full." She gently rubbed her waist and belly.
As soon as she finished speaking, a server brought over a square pot and set it on the grill. The fragrant grilled forktail catfish was ready.
Xue Yuantong immediately sat up properly, grabbed her chopsticks, and started eating.
Jiang Ning picked up his chopsticks. "It's cooked. Let's eat."
Only then did Xue Chuchu begin eating.
A few more customers arrived nearby: Dong Qingfeng, Chen Qian, Yu Wen, Jiang Yanan, Shen Qing'e, and four unfamiliar young men and women.
Xue Chuchu recognized one of the girls—her deskmate, Mu Ying. The two got along quite well and had once attended the opening ceremony for Blue Horse Mall's second phase together.
As for the other two boys, one wore designer brands and a watch—Jin Yuanhang from their class. The other wore thick glasses and was Tao Zhi.
Dong Qingfeng extended a gentlemanly invitation to the last girl. "Come join us. I've been to this place a few times. For this part of town, the food is pretty good."
"There are a lot of us, so we can order more kinds of fish and try them all," he added, finding another reason.
The girl before him was beautiful. Her pale blue suspender dress had a French style, paired with a white blouse trimmed with lace, giving her an inexplicably aristocratic air.
