The dismissal bell rang.
Students poured out after school, crowding together into a sea of people that filled the outer corridor.
Jiang Ning remained quietly in his seat. It was not that he did not want to get up and head to the cafeteria, but because Xue Yuantong, who was sprawled across his seat, was blocking his path to food.
Usually at this time, Xue Yuantong would be sleeping groggily and needed his guidance before she could find the way to the cafeteria.
But today, pain appeared on Xue Yuantong's little face. "Jiang Ning, I've got a cramp."
Sleeping in class had been wonderfully comfortable, but then her calf cramped up. The pain was so intense she had nearly bitten Jiang Ning.
Seeing how miserable she looked, Jiang Ning said, "That's a good thing. It means you're still growing and about to get taller."
Xue Yuantong had been in considerable pain, but the moment she heard that, she became excited. "Really? I haven't grown any taller for almost half a year."
Jiang Ning said, "Very likely. When I was growing taller, I often got leg cramps."

Jiang Ning was so tall that he had every right to speak on growing taller. His words carried authority.
That shot of excitement immediately restored Xue Yuantong's glow. At the thought of growing taller, her calf no longer hurt as much. Now she had more important matters to consider! Her brows danced with delight, but then she grew worried. "If I grow taller, won't my current clothes stop fitting?"
"Right. They'll become too short," Jiang Ning said.
