Hu Qi, Vera, and Zhou Zhipeng received their quests as Intern Readers in the world of Shadow of the End, where Slaughter Day was nine days away. After asserting his strength and taking charge, Hu Qi led the group to seek money; elsewhere, Matsumoto Yasuo arrived home and was confronted at gunpoint.

• Vera and Zhou Zhipeng introduced themselves to Hu Qi and explained how they had arrived in the Reincarnation Book House.
• The group received quests to survive thirty days and complete several side objectives, including meeting Bai Chuan Youzhen and earning five million Sakura Coins.
• Zhou Zhipeng challenged Hu Qi for leadership, but Hu Qi caught his sword and sent him flying, after which Zhou and Vera accepted Hu Qi as their leader.

• Black Wolf killed Xiao Chen and brought Matsumoto Yasuo to Hu Qi, Vera, and Zhou Zhipeng, where Hu Qi hypnotized him and made him provide fifteen million Sakura Coins.
• Hu Qi, Vera, and Zhou Zhipeng completed Side Quest Two and stayed at Matsumoto Yasuo’s villa while searching for Bai Chuan Youzhen.

• Hu Qi killed a beginner Yin Beast and learned that his Demonic Elephant Physique was especially effective against Yin Beasts.
• Matsumoto Yasuo found Bai Chuan Youzhen, and Hu Qi used staged killings to leave him with an unforgettable impression and complete Side Quest One.
• Bai Chuan Youzhen woke in a garbage-strewn area and called Xiao Li, Summer Junior, and Akiyama, discovering they were alive and questioning whether the killings had been an illusion.
• As Slaughter Day approached, Shenmu City residents prepared to defend themselves or fled, while Intern Readers gathered to pursue Bai Chuan Youzhen.

• Hu Qi let Vera and Zhou Zhipeng remain at Qinglu Villa while they resisted armed thugs attacking the estate.
• Scar Brother led his gang through a secret sewer entrance, but Vera made the intruders turn on one another, and Hu Qi and his companions killed the survivors, earning contribution points for only three of them.
• Hu Qi left Qinglu Villa and used the Tattered Black Banner to absorb Yin Beasts and kill slaughterers across Shenmu City as the city’s mass deaths accelerated the monsters’ emergence.

Hu Qi accepted a hidden task to kill every Intern Reader outside his team, making himself the target of all the others as Slaughter Day drew the attention of powerful figures in Shenmu City. By morning, he had defeated numerous attackers and continued toward a figure emerging through the mist.

• Sky Eagle fired repeated armor-piercing rounds at Hu Qi, but they failed to hurt him, and Hu Qi killed Sky Eagle with a flick of his finger.
• Hu Qi killed another fleeing attacker, then accepted the hidden Harvest task, which changed every other Intern Reader’s Main Quest to killing him.
• Anderson and Lei Ao learned of the new target and welcomed the prospect of confronting him, while Senba Sakuraori received reports of Hu Qi and other unusual people through Feather Crow.
• Bai Chuan Youzhen absorbed a three-headed Black Wolf and discovered he could transform his arm into a clawed, scaled form.

Hu Qi slaughtered the Intern Readers who tried to kill him, then captured Senba Sakuraori and sent her to warn the forces behind her that he would stay in Shenmu City for three days. After Senba Sakuraori reported back, she was consumed by golden flames, leaving the gathered Yin Beasts facing Hu Qi’s challenge without her.

• Priest Anderson, Lei Ao, and the monk attacked Hu Qi, but Hu Qi killed all three with overwhelming force.
• Hu Qi used the Tattered Black Banner to devour the fleeing Intern Readers and nearby Yin Beasts, then pursued Senba Sakuraori.
• Hu Qi captured Senba Sakuraori, drained some of her Yin Energy, and ordered her to tell her allies he would give them three days to kill him.

After Hu Qi’s attack killed Senba Sakuraori, the other high-level Yin Beasts planned to test him with humans before resorting to a secret weapon. Hu Qi survived successive attacks as the city watched a livestream, but the authorities escalated to a nuclear strike, and the chapter ended as the bomb detonated over Shenmu City.

• San Hui and the Goatee Old Man agreed to send humans against Hu Qi first and use a great weapon if that failed.
• Authorities ended Slaughter Day, publicized a bounty on Hu Qi, and portrayed him as a monster.
• Hu Qi killed the humans, Intern Readers, and Yin Beasts who attacked him at a school, while the Tattered Black Banner absorbed the fear of livestream viewers.

• Hu Qi, transformed into a small-mountain-sized figure, addressed the world and said it was his turn to retaliate before the final livestream feed went dark.
• The high-ranking Yin Beasts debated whether Hu Qi was gravely wounded, but a giant palm appeared above their mountain and crushed it, killing them and the Intern Reader.

San Hui escaped Hu Qi’s attacks with only one life remaining, while Hu Qi’s survival of the nuclear blast reshaped public opinion and weakened the Yin Beasts’ control over humanity. As human leaders considered contacting Hu Qi, San Hui sought refuge with Lord Yamata, who awakened behind the iron door.

• San Hui survived Hu Qi’s first strike by sacrificing another life, then fled after he cut her down again, leaving her with one life remaining.
• Hu Qi decided not to pursue San Hui and left, while fear and worship of him spread and fueled his emotional power.
• Information about Yin Beasts spread online, and human leaders chose to wait and consider contacting Hu Qi as the Yin Beasts’ influence weakened.
• San Hui went to the black iron door to seek Lord Yamata’s help, and Lord Yamata awakened amid a surge of Yin Energy.

San Hui reported the recent upheavals to Yamata, but a golden flame killed her before Hu Qi appeared and destroyed the King-level Yin Beast. Hu Qi used the Mind Realm and the black banner to kill the remaining Intern Readers, then waited out the thirty-day mission and returned to the Reincarnation Book House with Vera and Zhou Zhipeng.

• San Hui entered Yamata’s cave, reported the recent events, and died when a golden flame consumed her despite Yamata’s attempt to restore her.
• Hu Qi appeared before Yamata, suppressed it with his Cosmic Coiling Serpent aura, and killed it with Crimson Sun Flame Fire, completing the hidden End mission.
• Hu Qi used the Mind Realm and the Tattered Black Banner to locate and kill the remaining Intern Readers, completing the hidden Harvest mission.
• Hu Qi declined Sagi Morishita’s offer to negotiate, spent the remaining hours eating and receiving SPA hydrotherapy, and waited for the deadline.

After completing the trial world Shadow of the End, Hu Qi entered the Reincarnation Book House as Bronze Reader 1051 and learned about its privileges and reader hierarchy. He used the Scarlet Modification Panel to raise his authority, and the Book House sent him flying toward the Silver area.

• The Reincarnation Book House promoted Hu Qi to Bronze Reader 1051, unlocked exchanges, and gave him a private space he could reshape and fill with ordinary items.
• Hu Qi explored the Bronze-level plaza, ignored a black-dressed woman who tried to introduce herself, and summoned the Book Spirit to display his personal information.
• Hu Qi reviewed his unusually large rewards from Shadow of the End, including a Yin Body Crystal, the Spirit of Yamata no Orochi, and 80,280 manuscript fees.
• Hu Qi ordered Crimson to change his authority from Bronze to Gold, and the personal-information screen began to distort.

Hu Qi used Modification Points to rise from Bronze Authority to Gold Authority and then become a new administrator of the Reincarnation Book House. His arrival unsettled the three existing administrators, and Han Yun and Suta began considering how to claim his authority.

• Readers in the Bronze Area recognized Hu Qi as Reader 1051 and watched him advance to Silver Authority, while the black-dressed woman and the burly man feared he might retaliate against them.
• Hu Qi passed through the Silver Area without stopping, reached Gold Authority, and spent more than fifty thousand Modification Points in the process.
• After noticing that Gold Authority could be raised further, Hu Qi asked Crimson to increase his permissions, causing a brief tremor throughout the Reincarnation Book House.
• Han Yun and Suta sensed the tremor and realized a new administrator had appeared, while a new dark-gold island formed beside their three islands.
• Hu Qi appeared on the new island and transformed its metal surface into a forested world that blocked Han Yun and Suta from watching him.

Hu Qi used his Administrator authority to obtain an Anywhere Door, then spent three years refining Oath Dao and forming a Dao Seed. He opened the door to reach White King Aldina, attacking her Holy Temple as his hunt for her began.

• Hu Qi examined his Administrator authority and the Reincarnation Book House’s exchange options, then used his discount to buy an Anywhere Door for one S-class Book Ticket and 10,000 royalties.
• Hu Qi’s clone sent the Anywhere Door to his true body, who decided to postpone hunting White King until he had refined Oath Dao and strengthened himself.
• After three years, Hu Qi absorbed the Erosion Contract Dao Rhymes and used 50,000 Modification Points to enhance the Divine Limit Heart Art, forming a Dao Seed.
• Hu Qi opened the Anywhere Door and traveled to White King Aldina’s location, while the giant turtle fled the Deep Abyss Zone.
• White King Aldina sensed the breach above her Holy Temple as Hu Qi’s black death ray struck down and he shouted for her to die.

Hu Qi relentlessly attacked Aldina, the White King, and drove her to flee through a fissure into an unknown world. He prepared to pursue her while setting an alarm around the fissure, leaving their confrontation unresolved.

• Hu Qi blasted Aldina and her Holy Temple, then revealed himself as the attacker and surprised her with his transformed strength.
• Aldina counterattacked with powers of light and darkness, but Hu Qi broke her weapons and defenses and grievously wounded her.
• Hu Qi pursued the fleeing Aldina through the Abyssal Domain, briefly fighting off strange dark-blue tentacles that emerged from the void.
• Aldina escaped into an earthy-yellow fissure, and Hu Qi decided to follow after contacting his clone in the Reincarnation Book House and placing restrictions to alert him if she returned.

Cleaner Lev and his team contained the Twelve-Winged Angel Statue, but a colossal Pale Body appeared in the sky and killed them. The statue then broke free of its barrier and reacted in shock to the being above.

• Lev led Cleaner D-Class Group 17 into the ruined church to contain the Twelve-Winged Angel Statue, which could mutate anyone who saw it.
• Sogir accidentally shone his flashlight at the statue, began transforming into an angel-like monster, and Lev shot him before the mutation could spread.
• Lev and the two remaining teammates activated a light barrier around the statue and left the church, believing their mission was complete.
• Outside, Lev and his teammates saw a colossal Pale Body coiling across the sky, and its presence killed all three of them.
• The barrier around the statue exploded, and the statue came alive, looked toward the Pale Body, and wondered how it could ignore the world's rules.

Hu Qi entered a strange world, devoured Aldina despite her attempt to bluff him, and discovered that the world's rules prevented him from leaving. After he consumed a minor Heterogeneous Entity, the White Tower detected his appearance and summoned its senior officials to assess the threat.

• Hu Qi appeared in his Cosmic Coiling Serpent form, destroyed the church, and swallowed Aldina after seeing through her false threat to self-destruct.
• Hu Qi absorbed Aldina and gained 196,587 Modification Points, then learned about her Yin-Yang Heaven-Seizing Strategy and paused digesting her Daos to study it.
• Hu Qi discovered that the world's rules trapped him inside, then swallowed and digested a Crying Girl who attacked him.
• The White Tower's Anomaly Radar detected a powerful Heterogeneous Entity above Wutong Town, and Chief Researcher Karoo reported that the Twelve-winged Angel Stone Statue and Crying Girl had vanished.

The White Tower discovered that the World Serpent encircled Kepler Star, and Vien proposed communicating with it before it revealed itself through Karoo and took control of the conference room. Hu Qi used Karoo’s body to explore the White Tower’s containment zone and reached the study of an entity called God.

• Karoo presented the World Serpent’s scale, lethal effects, and appearance around Kepler Star, while the White Tower debated how to respond.
• Vien argued that the World Serpent’s appearance was connected to the missing Twelve-winged Angel Stone Statue and suggested trying to communicate with it.
• The World Serpent revealed itself as Hu Qi, controlled the people in the conference room, and made them address him as Master.
• Hu Qi used Karoo’s memories to learn about the White Tower and entered its central containment zone.
• Hu Qi passed Narcissus and other contained entities before reaching a study where a figure sat at a desk.

Hu Qi confronted GN-000 God and learned that a great Creator had made the Heterogeneous Entities before God died and Hu Qi revived his Karoo identity. Meanwhile, Wu Yang discovered God’s death in his comic and nearly died when he tried to reveal Hu Qi’s image, but a cat-eared girl rescued him.

• Hu Qi entered GN-000 God’s study, challenged him about the origin of Heterogeneous Entities, and fought him inside God’s Domain.
• Hu Qi broke God’s Domain and destroyed Genesis, then forced God to reveal that the great Creator had made the Heterogeneous Entities and that God’s mission was to preserve the world’s balance.
• GN-000 God began to self-destruct after mentioning the Creator, so Hu Qi killed him and gained 100 Modification Points.
• Hu Qi revived Karoo in the White Tower containment chamber and concluded that a Creator was manipulating the balance between humans and Heterogeneous Entities.
• Wu Yang saw God’s death depicted in his comic and tried to make the image of the culprit clearer, but the image harmed him until a black cat shut the book and a cat-eared girl caught him.

Wu Yang learned that the pale World Serpent had injured him through the sketchbook and might know that a Creator existed, then used protective measures to investigate it. Meanwhile, Hu Qi harvested the White Tower’s contained Heterogeneous Entities and considered whether God had been seeking a way to escape its Creator’s control.

• Mei Qiu explained that Wu Yang had suffered backlash from indirectly seeing an existence too powerful to observe, and Wu Yang discovered that fifteen of his Black Prayer Beads had shattered to save him.
• Mei Qiu read the sketchbook and identified the entity as the T5-class World Serpent, which had killed God after God violated Wu Yang’s rules and revealed that a Creator existed.
• Wu Yang put on a Forbidden Helmet and made the sketchbook simplify the World Serpent’s image, allowing him to inspect it and learn that its known abilities included eternal life, bodily parasitism, mental pressure, atomic manipulation, and spatial displacement.
• The sketchbook began erasing pages, and Wu Yang realized the World Serpent was killing Heterogeneous Entities through complete erasure from the material plane.
• Hu Qi watched as White Tower Cleaners sent contained Heterogeneous Entities through a vortex into his true body, while Costu reported that nearly all the White Tower’s entities had been gathered.
• Hu Qi suspected the Creator was human and wondered whether God had studied human society in hopes of escaping the Creator’s control.

Hu Qi used the Heavenly Mandate System to provoke the hidden Creator and grant it to intelligent beings across Kepler Star, giving them a way to capture Heterogeneous Entities. After people began gaining supernatural abilities and sharing them online, the planet erupted in a hunt for the entities.

• Hu Qi concluded that the Creator was evading his investigations and decided to draw it out by activating the Heavenly Mandate System across Kepler Star.
• Wang Wu and the women aboard his private jet saw the sky turn blood-red, received the Heaven's Mandate System, and learned that they had all been bound to it.
• Intelligent beings across Kepler Star received the system, which rewarded anyone who captured a Heterogeneous Entity, though the entities were dangerous.
• Authorities and experts dismissed the system as a mass hallucination linked to cosmic radiation, and many people temporarily accepted their explanation.
• An internet celebrity demonstrated Flame Manipulation after capturing a Heterogeneous Entity, then flew through the air and accidentally exposed himself on the livestream.

Wu Yang watched the Heaven's Mandate System erase the Heterogeneous Entities he had created and decided to fight the World Serpent with Mei Qiu's help. As he began designing new creatures to strengthen her, the serpent sensed something on Kepler Star and opened its eyes.

• A bald Ability User captured the rabbit-form Heterogeneous Entity rd-199 and advertised Storm Brand before the footage ended.
• Wu Yang learned that the sketchbook's Heterogeneous Entities were disappearing as Ability Users contained them through the Heaven's Mandate System.
• Mei Qiu urged Wu Yang to fight the World Serpent by stacking other Heterogeneous Entities' abilities onto her, and Wu Yang agreed to create creatures for that purpose.
• The Black Cat privately doubted they could defeat the World Serpent but supported Wu Yang so he would not give up.
• Several days later, the World Serpent opened its eyes and sensed someone on Kepler Star was finally coming out.

Black Cat fought the World Serpent’s forces in Kari City, but Hu Qi took control of her and found Wu Yang hidden in her pocket dimension. Hu Qi discovered a black sketchbook inside Wu Yang, revealed and devoured the white worm concealed within it, and gained 213847 Modification Points.

• Mind Demon attacked the figure emerging from the smoke with rebars, but they reversed course and killed him.
• Black Cat appeared and killed four Ability Users with her presence, then sliced the fleeing survivor in half with a blade of air.
• Hu Qi took control of Black Cat and asked where Wu Yang was, and she revealed him from her pocket dimension.
• Hu Qi melted Wu Yang’s body and found a black sketchbook floating above the blood, then burned it until a crack revealed a white cocoon.
• The cocoon burst open and revealed a many-eyed white worm, which Hu Qi swallowed and devoured.

Hu Qi digested the white worm Gel Muleta’s inherited memories and learned that Void Creatures came from beyond the Sea of Sumeru and parasitized worlds to consume their origins. With the Heterogeneous Entities gone, the Heaven’s Mandate System disconnected from Kepler Star, while Hu Qi remained in space contemplating the greater reality beyond his world.

• Hu Qi devoured the white worm, and the Heterogeneous Entities across Kepler Star began to vanish as their source of power disappeared.
• The cat-eared girl regained her consciousness, mourned Wu Yang, and died in her Black Cat form as memories revealed how Wu Yang had once rescued her.
• The Heaven’s Mandate System announced its disconnection, leaving Kepler Star’s existing Ability Users with their powers but ending the chance for others to gain abilities through it.
• Hu Qi awakened in space after digesting the worm’s memories and learned that the worm was Gel Muleta, a Void Creature from beyond the Sea of Sumeru.
• Hu Qi learned that Gel Muleta had used Wu Yang to create Heterogeneous Entities and erode the world, while Wu Yang unknowingly acted as a pawn in its conflict with the World Will.

Hu Qi learned how Void Creatures grew and why the creature he swallowed had trapped its world, then looked down at Kepler Star as authorities began capturing Ability Users after the Heaven’s Mandate System vanished. Long Yi awakened in a research facility, tried to resist his captors, and was subdued by a shock collar and anesthetic.

• Hu Qi recalled the Void Creature’s life stages, short lifespan, dependence on a world’s origin, and role in trapping Aldina before swallowing it and resolving the crisis.
• Long Yi rose from factory worker to Ability User after containing a Heterogeneous Entity and gaining the Dragon Transformation ability through the Heaven’s Mandate System.
• After the system vanished and the Heterogeneous Entities disappeared, Long Yi considered joining other Ability Users to seize control of the world, but he was captured and taken for experiments.
