"I'd like to hear more."
Facing Nyx's gaze, which had lost its initial forcefulness and instead carried a hint of irritation, Ryan spoke with interest.
The gods whose Divine Offices he had intercepted ahead of time had merely suffered a decline in power at most, but all those gods had been born through intercourse. He truly had no idea what additional trouble losing a Divine Office would bring to a god born through "heavenly conception," like Nyx.
Taking a deep breath, Nyx looked at Ryan through the veil attached to her black dress and slowly began to explain:
"You should know the difference between our true bodies and our personified incarnations, as Primordial Gods born alongside the world, right?"
Ryan nodded slightly. After all these years, he had learned quite a bit more about the Primordial Gods. He was no longer limited to making guesses based on myths from later ages as he had been at the beginning.
"I know a little. Your true bodies are part of the world. If you treat the world as a person, then they're the world's different aspects."
"But after being personified, you become separate from the world. Of course, from then on, you no longer possess a complete divine status."
Just as Ryan had known for a long time, for Primordial Gods, the offspring conceived by their true bodies had no essential connection to their personified divine forms.
Earth Mother had borne children with Uranus and Pontus in succession, and the logic was actually the same. To her, those three gods were, at most, her nominal offspring. They were "conceived by the earth," but that did not mean they had been conceived by Gaia.
Thus, Nyx and Erebus were actually pure siblings. They had nothing to do with the husband-and-wife relationship described in
