After arriving in a deserted village, they found Lanruo Temple by tossing a branch and followed Ning Caichen, hoping he would trigger a quest.

• Wang Xian explained that Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio contained bosses of varying strengths and chose the Thousand-Year Tree Demon as his target.
• Xuan Ming brought the young monk Hui Ming, whom he believed could restrain ghosts, and Wang Xian assembled a ten-person team for the dungeon.
• Wang Xian and the group entered the dungeon, appeared near a village, and found it deserted amid the stench of decaying corpses.

• Wang Xian left his companions and Xiao Bai outside the cave, then used Soaring Golden Light to slip past the Bee Monsters and enter undetected.
