Following behind the five dragon heads were long, muscular necks, jagged sharp spines running down their length. Enormous dragon claws reached out and gripped the edge of the magic circle, their slightly curved talons gleaming with a metallic sheen, sharp enough to tear apart anything. Unstoppable Dragon's Might spread outward as the Five-Emperor Dragon roared and slowly crawled out of the magic circle, which was tiny in comparison to its body.
When those dragon wings, like clouds blotting out the sky, spread open, the ruined port warehouse district was plunged into darkness. The high-hanging moon was completely obscured.
Duke sat upright on a stone throne atop the dragon's back. He had originally wanted to make it gold and set it with gemstones as large as ostrich eggs, but after some thought, decided it was better to keep a low profile. He was a reserved man and did not want to draw too much attention.
Frostmourne and Fire's Delight stood crossed before the stone throne. Duke guided the Five-Emperor Dragon high into the sky without taking out that forty-meter-long Dragon Rider Lance.
As a high-altitude worker with years of dragon-riding experience, Duke could responsibly tell everyone that a powerful dragon + a powerful knight ≠ a powerful Dragon Knight!
The size difference between humans and dragons was too great for them to form a combination of true strengths. Forcing them together would only hold each other back. For example, when faced with a powerful enemy's attack, the dragon might lazily roll over, and then... that was it. The Dragon Knight became mosaic pixels.
So novels were all lies. The Dragon Knight profession was simply all effort for no reward. Dragon-riding mages might be possible, but the odds of dying when the dragon rolled over were still alarmingly high. It was far
