Sakura hurried off to school. Before she left, Duke concealed the Command Spells on the back of her hand so Tohsaka Rin would not notice them. It would not have mattered much if they were discovered, but the Holy Grail War had only just begun. Revealing them now would undoubtedly make things less interesting.

Rider left with Sakura as well. Just looking at Duke made her feel uncomfortable all over. The symptoms included weak legs, flushed cheeks, and a malfunctioning drainage system.

Staying in the empty castle was far too boring, so Duke decided to take Lancelot out for a stroll. Mainly because the Matou Family and Emiya Family residences were not far apart. If Saber's arrival that night caused too much of a commotion, Lancelot might become alert ahead of time.

After leaving Sakura a note saying he would return late that night, Duke took Lancelot out.

Watching Duke wander aimlessly, Lancelot asked, "Master, where are we going?"

"Just looking around. Since we're participating in the Holy Grail War, it can't hurt to familiarize ourselves with the terrain! The Holy Grail War ten years ago destroyed more than half of New City. This isn't the Fuyuki City we know. I don't want to get lost while chasing an enemy—that would be too embarrassing!" Duke said casually. To create a touching reunion between lord and retainer, he had truly gone to great lengths.

Could anyone even escape from his grasp?

Lancelot quietly grew suspicious. He knew his Master's strength better than anyone. If an enemy escaped Duke's hands, Duke must have allowed it deliberately. So... there had to be some deeper meaning behind this!

Lancelot thought of many possibilities, but he never considered the crucial point.
