Chapter Summaries

Duke used the Black Mud to give Red Archer, Lancer, Rider, and Medea physical bodies, then prepared to deal with Kirei Kotomine and Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh arrived at the valley and provoked the Heroic Spirits by claiming Saber had come to fulfill their marriage agreement.

• Duke drew the Black Mud's curses out of Red Archer, fulfilled his wish to live again, and flung him naked from the barrier, where Lancelot struck him down.
• Duke restored Lancer's body and tossed him toward Heracles, who caught him and spun him through the air.
• Rider jumped into the Black Mud before Medea, prompting Medea to follow; Duke restored both women's bodies, and they left after glaring at each other.
• Duke set the Black Mud ablaze and waited for the remnants from ten years earlier to arrive: Kirei Kotomine and Gilgamesh.
