After school, Li Xingze came here to register as a Hunter.

The moment he arrived, a sweet-looking recruitment girl bumped into his chest.

Li Xingze froze for a moment. His Summoning Element was still only at the first level of the Basic rank, still quite a ways from the second level.

"You don't take Summoning Element mages either?" Li Xingze asked with a frown.

"As long as they haven't reached the second level of the Basic rank, we don't—" The sweet girl was about to say no, but then she suddenly looked up at Li Xingze. "You're a Summoning Element mage?"

"Yeah."

"You want to join the City Monster Hunter Team?"

"Yeah!"

"Really?"

"Absolutely."

Only after confirming it several times did the sweet girl run back in delight.

Li Xingze raised an eyebrow. The girl was clearly adorable, but she acted so rushed and flustered.

Half a minute later, Li Xingze heard a thunderous roar. "What?!"

"You're saying a Summoning Element mage wants to join our City Monster Hunter Team?" Xu Dahuang looked at the sweet girl, Xiao Ke, in both shock and delight.

Xiao Ke nodded repeatedly before adding, "I confirmed it several times. He really is a Summoning Element mage."

"Shouldn't Summoning Element mages have been snatched up by the major factions long ago? How could one possibly end up with our City Monster Hunter Team?" the Wind-type mage Li Wenjie questioned.

"His Summoned Beast wouldn't happen to be some useless weakling, would it?" Vice-captain Cai Tang maliciously speculated.

"Probably not."

Xu Dahuang was not entirely sure either. The Summoning Element had an extremely high ceiling at the Basic rank, but its floor was equally low.

"Why not go take a look and find out?" the Earth-type mage Fei Shi said, without any extra thoughts.

Xu Dahuang nodded and immediately left the room, walking up to Li Xingze and asking directly, "Are you the Summoning Element mage?"

Xu Dahuang's voice was so loud that nearly every mage in the Hunter's League heard him. Before Li Xingze could reply, the Hunters around them began chattering noisily.

"Damn, are summoners coming out to compete with me for work now?"

"Fuck, there's no justice. Is this summoner stupid or something? Wouldn't it be better to obediently join some faction and get a cushy job?"

"I heard Tianlan High School has produced a Summoning Element genius. Could it be this guy?"

"No way. A student coming out to be a Hunter?"

Listening to the noisy voices around him, Li Xingze frowned and said to Xu Dahuang, "That's right, I'm a Summoning Element mage. Is your City Monster Hunter Team recruiting?"

"Uh..." Such an eager summoner made Xu Dahuang cautious. "Well, may I ask what your Summoned Beast is?"

Li Xingze frowned. He was not joining the City Monster Hunter Team because he valued their combat strength. He simply did not want to go Wild Monster Hunting.

Besides, he still had school. He could not exactly take leave every day, could he?

"I can summon my Summoned Beast." Li Xingze swept his gaze over the Hunters gathered around to watch before continuing, "I'm just afraid it might scare you."

Li Xingze was different from Mo Fan. He had never secretly watched this woman bathe.

Looking at the Hunters who had been scared pissless, Li Xingze waved a hand and recalled his Summoned Beast.

After the Goldflame Dragon Lion vanished, Xu Dahuang and the others finally let out a breath of relief.

"Since you have such a powerful Summoned Beast, why become a Hunter? Wouldn't joining any random faction be better than being a Hunter?" Xu Dahuang was thoroughly puzzled.

"Hunters have more freedom," Li Xingze said calmly.

Hearing that explanation, Xu Dahuang laughed speechlessly. This guy was still too young. What use was freedom compared to resources and one's life?

Still, with such a formidable general in the City Monster Hunter Team, their safety would improve considerably.

That was a good thing, so Xu Dahuang did not continue trying to persuade Li Xingze.
